Melissa sat up at night unable to fall asleep, her thoughts were plagued by the experiences from the party. Nothing like this has ever happened to her. She was a very well-respected figure amongst many and was used to getting whatever she wanted without even saying a word.
“The audacity,” she thought,
“The embarrassment, that lady?” She could barely wrap her head around it. How could someone like herself, such a big name, an award-winning actress be treated in that manner, truly it was infuriating.
“Still awake?” Alex asked as he walked into the room.
“Don't tell me that it's still about what happened earlier?” He asked her, taking his seat at the edge of the bed next to where she rested her back on the pillow.
“Isn't it just strange to you Alex?” She asked him,
“And what did you do? Nothing?”
“Oh, you are blaming it on me?” Alex was shocked, there was nothing he could have done against the director himself. Compared to Jennifer Thomson, he was a nobody in the industry.
“That's not what I'm saying,” she mumbled in an apologetic tone,
“I'm just pissed… I'm not sure who Harry thinks he is but I need to see the boss himself, I'm very sure that whoever is the Head of our industry will not let him lose me.”
“And why do you think so?” Alex asked, but Melissa cut him off before he could finish.
“Why are you being so negative?” She asked him with a frown.
“Look Melissa,” Alex looked her in the eye, and drew her chin close to his lips, he placed a kiss on them, and continued,
“I am only stating facts and not intentionally trying to piss you off, okay. “
Alex knew that her quest to find the man's boss was impossible. Whoever was behind the industry had never been seen before or introduced to any of them. It looked like he was a god invisible to the human eyes, or maybe even the president and he could only be seen by a few people.
“You are right,” Mellisa sighed and folded her arm in frustration,
“But unlike you, my love, I know my way around the industry. I know exactly where I'd go and I'll be allowed to speak with him. After all, with or without the role, I'm still Melissa Blackwood.”
“Sure you are, babe,” Alex smiled, leaning closer to her,
“And no one can mess with Melissa Blackwood. “

The next day
Jason had left the house as early as seven a.m. just to get to his destination on time. It took an hour and thirty minutes to reach the city and another twenty minutes to drive through it until he got to the exact location.
‘Do not trespass’
The sign was boldly written at the gate, but whoever dared to trespass would be risking his or her life because aside from the electric fences, and seemingly tight security, it was already a risk to take a twenty minute drive through the lonely, area that was initially set aside for military operations and test for weapons.
But as soon as Jason arrived, every single operation was paused, and while he was yet to park his car at his special reserved spot, he was crowded by a large number of military men.
They maintained a safe distance when he stepped out of the car, and each one of them greeted him with a salute. None dared to look him in the eye, not even say a word, it looked as though they feared him so much to be rendered speechless by his presence.
“Back to your places!” The voice of a lady called back their attention, as she signaled them to leave and stop bothering Jason, and they didn't hesitate to return to their post, leaving Jason and the woman standing face to face.
“It's good to see you again sir,” she said, taking a bow as she did. She was tall and dark-skinned, her body physique showed that she had spent years working out, and even her dress in a black leather jacket, black pants, and heavy-duty boots commanded respect. From the look of things, she was truly a respected figure in this place, yet she bowed before Jason and he only acknowledged her greeting with a nod.
“There had better be a good reason why you called my attention.” He said to her, with an authoritative tone and a straight face.
She looked at him, let out a slight chuckle, and replied,
“I won't call your attention unless the situation requires you to be here, sir. Please, follow me.”
Jason walked behind her, with three well-armed military men following in his behind. Together they walked into the building. The scenery was exquisite, aside from the eye-catching exterior, the interior was ten times more fascinating.
At first glance, visitors might assume that they have been transported into a sci-fi movie, where buildings have futuristic designs, and gadgets are more advanced than in the real world.
As soon as they walked in, a scanner in the form of a floating globe confirmed both their identities, after which they walked up to the elevator at the far end of the hall. The elevator took them downwards and stopped at the basement where it opened to reveal a section of the establishment delegated to the tech experts.
Everyone in their large room was either working on or testing out a gadget. There was an indication of teamwork as almost every desk had nearly six people working on the same gadget.
When they saw Jason, the room went silent, all eyes were fixed on their works, and not a single one of them dared to lift their head or look at Jason.
“Well, sir,” The lady began as she walked Jason across the room,
“Someone here turned out to be an intruder despite your warnings.” As soon as she said those words, a transparent cylindrical component was lowered from the ceiling.
Inside it was a man dressed in a white lab coat, bound by chains on his feet and handcuffs on his wrist. The bruises on his face prove that he had recently been involved in a fight and had lost.
“Don't they ever learn?”
