*last time*
I sprint towards the infirmary, where Skylar is trapped, unconcious, maybe dying, burning...
I shake these thoughts as I get closer
PLEASE BE SAFE!!!
A dart of silver streaks by me as Thalia goes straight through the burning entrance. She appears at the entrance, running towards me. Without warning, the weakened beams start to shriek and crack, and collapse on the two. My feet stop and smoke fills the air, if not thicker than before.
"No..." I whisper, horrified. My feet have a mind of their own, my mind conflicting. Said mind screams at me 'No, don't ! You won't like what you see!" but my heart tells me "They're okay, I have to try." Nevertheless, I stand, paralysed, as the scene unfolds around me. More and more people come as the monsters drop or slowly sink back into the ground at their master's command. They wade through the sea of wood, looking for supplies for the wounded. No one else saw what I saw.
"THALIA! SKYLAR! WHERE ARE YOU?!" I yell, finding my own way through the people crowded around the demolished building.
"Here! Here! Help!" Thalia's voice comes from somewhere in the rubble. I search around, finding this to be a sick game of hot-and-cold. She waves a hand, underneath a wardrobe where we kept medicine. I reach out to her and clutch to my sister's rescuer. All I pull out is Thalia, tear streaking down her face.
"Thalia, what is it?" She shakes her head and points to uder the wardrobe. I lift it up with difficulty, and almost drop it when I see what's under there. Part of the wood of the wardrobe, specifically the door, was splintered into fragments, and those parts obviously had a target. Skylar lay on the ground, her armour dented, and right where the extra small armour didn't cover, of course, a rather large looking splinter speared her through the collarbone area. I look at her face, cut and scorched by the fire and collapsing debris, bloodied and broken beyond repair. My mind flashes to my own night of death, blood dripping from the cuts on my wrists. My head twists from the mangled face, not believing this was my sister.
Running, I find myself running, blind to anything but my own thoughts. How can the Fates be so cruel?! I almost slam into a tree, and I wrap my arms around it, sliding down to the base. Why?
(So sorry you guys but I've been trying to get this done for a week, and I've been super busy but there's a storm going on ad I'm scared that it's gonna knock out the power, or worse, the wifi, so I'm gonna publish this and I'll edit it once the storm's over and done with, and I'll do the rest as well... and I'm so sorry for the death of Skylar, I'm crying too!
