General Ironwood activated the display on his terminal to put an end to the loud beeping sound of his alarm. He glanced at the screen to see Amity being launched upwards into the sky. He gazed at the scene calmly, before turning to face his Ace Operatives.
Ironwood: "It's time" . . . ~Amity Tower~ Cinder: "I was hoping your friends would be here...". She created multiple flaming blades as she spoke, staring straight forward at her opponent. Penny stared back at her, wary, but combat ready.
Amity Tower was being launched. Pietro and Maria were on board to activate the tower for Ruby's broadcast, and Penny was here to assist them. And now, also to protect them.
Cinder: "...Looks like they left you to do all the work. You're just a tool to be used". Penny's eyes narrowed only slightly, "You do not know what you are talking about".
With a smirk, Cinder fired off all the blades at Penny, kicking off the impending battle. Penny quickly let loose her own array of blades to block off the attack, but it seemed she wouldn't be able to keep up. Before she got overwhelmed though, a giant mech; likely normally used for construction; dropped in front of Penny, smashing Cinder's remaining blades to dust and glass. Maria pushed the controls again, spurring the mech to take one menacing step after the other towards Cinder.
Maria: "Get away from her, you...!" She cursed loudly as an airship rammed into the mech from her left side. Cinder didn't come to Amity alone. Neo was the one flying the airship, which was currently in a struggle with Maria's mech, and Emerald could be seen running onto the arena to offer her assistance as well.
Pietro watched the ongoing scuffle from above with panic in his eyes, before hurrying his chair over to the Amity terminal, clicking away rapidly on the keyboard, "Please, please, please,...". The terminal beeped in response, signaling that Amity had now reached peak altitude for the broadcast.
Pietro: "Yes!" Just then, the screen lit up red with errors. Some components had failed. Pietro frowned and went back to clicking, trying to find a workaround, unbeknownst to him that the cause of the failures was the battle between the two maidens who were now flying outside.
Penny let out a gasp as she noticed the damage being dealt to Amity. She then turned and flew off, away from Amity, and sure enough Cinder gave chase without second thought. She shot out fireball after fireball to no avail, as Penny kept on maneuvering mid-flight, soaring further and further away from Amity. Which was when Cinder's eyes widened in realization, and she came to an abrupt halt. If she couldn't get to Penny, then she would have to make Penny come to her. With that, she shot off in the opposite direction back to Amity, much to Penny's alarm.
Back inside Amity, Cinder flew right up to Pietro's platform, and began to shoot flames at the supporting pillars till they glowed red hot. Penny flew in moments after, her eyes wide in horror.
Penny: "No!" Green energy blasts fired off at Cinder, who flew out of the way with a smirk on her face. Once more, the two maidens stared each other down, hovering several feet in the air.
