Ford sighed with relief as the bell rang, signalling the end of eighth period, which was History. He had it with Giselle, much to his despair. She kept sending him glares throughout the whole class, which the history teacher noticed, " Giselle. Is there a problem?" She had asked, and Giselle froze, embarrassed, " No Miss!" She said quickly, and Ford smirked. ''Serves her right'' he had thought, rolling his eyes. Now, he was walking down the hallway, keeping his head down. Suddenly, he bumped into someone else. Neither of them fell over, but he looked up, " Ah...sorry!" He says, but realises it's Willliam, " Fancy running into you here." William says, chuckling, " And it's okay." He added, smiling at Ford, " Hi William." Ford mumbled, spotting Giselle behind him, " I've got to go, speak to you later." He said, avoiding William's gaze and hurrying off. Don't get him wrong, William was a great friend, but he did not want to deal with Giselle, it had been a long day.

He made it back to his dorm, opening the door and sighing heavily. Prya was brushing Leah's hair, Rora was talking to Zak, and Marcus was reading on his bed. Multiple eyes turned to him as he entered. But he ignored them, chucking his bag in the corner and heading over to the bathroom. He realised the broken glass from earlier had been cleared away, probably by the cleaners. He ran the tap, spraying cold water onto his face and re-styling his hair. He groaned, walking out of the bathroom. ''Ah right, I'm meeting Willian tonight'' He thought, sighing to himself. He sat down on the armchair, not wanting to climb up the ladders of his and Marcus's bunk bed. He heard someone get up, looking around to spot Prya approaching him. He rolled his eyes, what did she want? She sat down next to him, offering a small smile. He didn't return it, waiting for her to say something. " Ford. Ignore Giselle." She said softly. Ford raised an eyebrow, " Who said I was listening to her?" He scoffed, " Well...in the hallway-" She said, before pursing her lips, " Just, ignore her, okay?" She says softly, getting up. Ford nods, looking back out the window as she walks off.

Around half an hour later, Ford grabbed his now-charged phone, a jacket and some crisps he hadn't eaten on the train journey. He had put in a SIM card he snuck onto the train into his phone, since he noticed William also had one, and they could exchange numbers. He headed towards the bathrooms, hoping no teachers would stop him. He successfully got there, looking for William. As he was looking in the bathroom, he felt a hand on his shoulder, making him jump, " Hi Ford!" William said, smiling at the shorter boy, " Ah...hi William." Ford said, laughing a little, " Shall we head to the treehouse then?" William asks him, and Ford nods, " You have a number?" He asks William, who nods. They exchange numbers, before sneaking outside and towards the fence from earlier.

Once they arrived at the treehouse, Ford chucked his bag on the floor, setting an alarm on his phone for eight-thirty am, so they could wake up and have enough time to get back without being noticed. William had already flopped down onto one of the bean bags, and was getting out some snacks from his backpack, " You hungry?" He asks, glancing at Ford, " Yeah, the school food sucks." Ford scoffs, and William chuckles, " You're not wrong." He shrugs, opening a packet of cookies, " The desert isn't bad though." He adds, and Ford nods, taking a seat next to William, who handed him the packet after taking a handful of the cookies himself. Ford grabbed the packet, taking out a cookie and taking a bite out of it. He dusted his hands off after he finished, brushing away the crumbs. William got up, " It's dark now, come to the roof." He says, standing up and climbing up the ladder. Ford smiled, following him. They climbed up to the rooftop and gazed at the shimmering stars scattered across the dark, partly cloudy sky, which obscured the moon. The chilly breeze gently brushed against their faces, it was a one-in-a-million moment. All you could hear was the wind rustling the tree's leaves, and the crickets in the grass below. Ford sighed, this was something unreal. Back at home, nothing was peaceful, ever. He sighed once more, glancing over at William, who also seemed to be enjoying it. William looked over at him, and the two of them locked eyes, " It's stunning." William was the first to speak up. Ford nodded in agreement, lying down. William followed him, and the two lay down, staring up at the stars, in pure silence.
