Xie Lian looks around Ghost City. The streets were full of stalls and all of the inhabitants looked like the cross of 5 different species. Y/n curiously glances around, seeing if any stalls served ramen or maybe ice cream. However, the street food that Y/n saw were all human remains and when she stared, she'd be met with a furious cry of, "What are you looking at, Nosy Urchin?! Go play somewhere else!!"

She looked at them frightenedly, gulping before looking up at Xie Lian, tugging on his sleeve with a small yank. "W-When can we go home?"

In which Xie Lian just scratched his cheek nervously at every bombardment of questions and made an 'ummmmmmm' noise like an electric fan before continuing on his way like he actually answered the question as he began to be lost in his own thought, "I wonder how San Lang is..."

As they continued walking, Xie Lian was stopped by a lady who wore a revealing dress and had very thick, overdone make up. Y/n couldn't hear their conversation but the next thing she knew, everyone was laughing at Xie Lian. Y/n sighed annoyedly, "Dad, you're embarrassing."

Xie Lian sighed too before looking down at Y/n skeptically. "Did you just call me Dad?"

"..."

"...?"

"Ew, no."

"If you say so..." Xie Lian carried on walking until they both reached a large, elaborate temple. However, this wasn't a cultural landmark of some of the destination's greatest history, for this was Ghost City. Outside the temple hung signs that billowed in the wind reading something that looked like an ancient language, long forgotten. Or perhaps scratches from a wild, headless animal who just happened to have a paintbrush. To this day, I dont think anyone knows or indeed has ever known.

Faint, boistorous cries could be heard, horrible shrieking screams of defiance and some cheers of victory. Y/n trailed behind Xie Lian, trying not to get lost as they both entered the intricately designed building. It was loud, almost deafening and the atmosphere was almost nausiating. There were various gambling tables strewn across the room, crowds of hideous ghosts betting their all into the simple, human concept of luck. Luck was a fleeting thing anyway, so it was pitiful watching the games.

From these crowds, a man stood at a long gambling table, his eyes bloodshot with greed. "I BET MY HAND!!"

Such a remarkable, idiotic remark earned a roar of laughter from the spectators around the long, wooden gambling table before a calming, demanding voice calls out from above, laced with a hint of amusement.

"Whether it's your hand or your pathetic life..." Everyone's eyes dart up, inculding Xie Lian and Y/n's,  at the long path of stairs, leading up to a grand, silky red curtain. Behind the curtain, there was the figure of a tall, elegant figure sat upon an elaborate chair. His long, black hair swayed along with the movement of his leg crossing over the other, a faint ringing resounded from the glistening, silver adornments attatched to his crimson robe as he does so. As Xie Lian looked up, Y/n could see the sparkle of awe in his eyes. You could almost here the man smirk as he continued.

"...Its all worth nothing here."
