The room was dimly lit, the only light coming from a single bulb hanging from the ceiling. Julian sat in a metal chair, his hands still bound behind his back, his eyes fixed on Marcus. There was no fear in his eyes—only defiance, a cold confidence that made Marcus’s blood boil.

Marcus paced back and forth in front of him, his mind racing. They needed information—locations of Alexander’s safehouses, the names of his contacts, anything that could give them an edge. But Julian was stubborn, and Marcus knew it would take more than threats to break him.

“You’re wasting your time,” Julian said, his voice calm, almost bored. “You think you can beat Alexander? You’re delusional. He’s already coming for you.”

Marcus stopped, his eyes narrowing as he looked at Julian. “You’re right,” he said, his voice low. “He is coming. But he doesn’t know what we know. He doesn’t know how many people are willing to fight back.”

Julian scoffed, shaking his head. “You’re nothing but a minor inconvenience. Alexander will crush you, just like he’s crushed everyone else who’s tried to stand against him.”

Marcus leaned closer, his eyes filled with intensity. “We’ll see about that. But before he gets the chance, you’re going to tell us everything we need to know.”

Julian smirked, his eyes meeting Marcus’s. “And what makes you think I will?”

Marcus didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he nodded towards the door, and one of the men standing guard stepped out, returning moments later with a laptop. Marcus opened it, turning the screen towards Julian.

Julian’s eyes flickered to the screen, his expression darkening as he saw the image displayed there—his own family, a photo taken from a distance, showing his wife and young daughter. For the first time, Marcus saw a flicker of fear in Julian’s eyes.

“We have people watching them,” Marcus said, his voice cold. “And unless you start talking, they’re going to find out what it feels like to be on the run, just like us.”

Julian’s jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing. “You wouldn’t dare,” he said, his voice trembling with anger.

Marcus leaned closer, his eyes never leaving Julian’s. “Try me,” he said. “You think Alexander’s the only one who knows how to make threats? You think we don’t have anything to lose?”

Julian stared at Marcus, his face pale, his eyes filled with rage and fear. For a moment, there was silence, the tension in the room thick enough to cut with a knife. Then, slowly, Julian lowered his head, his shoulders slumping in defeat.

“What do you want to know?” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Marcus felt a surge of triumph, but he kept his expression neutral, his eyes fixed on Julian. This was just the beginning. They had a long way to go, and Alexander wouldn’t give up easily. But for the first time, Marcus felt like they had a chance—a real chance to bring Alexander down.

And he wasn’t going to stop until they did.
