My Person

Different things make different people happy. Some people are happy because of the box coming up, some because of Greenie night, some because of getting up and working, some because of sleep, and some because of other people.

I’m happiest when I’m with Newt. He's my person, my one. Without him, my life would be completely bleak.

Still, I have this kind of out of sight, out of mind brain. If it's not in my direct line of sight, I have the tendency to forget about it. It's never on purpose, but it's still frustrating.

Tonight, we have a date. We’re just going to be watching the stars, which I was still really excited for. It's nice to just be doing something with him.

I can't forget it though, which means I’ve stayed close to him. I do that for every date night, unless he specifies that he needs space. Today he seemed more than okay with me working right not to him though, working on whatever plants were right next to his.

“Love, can you pass the seeds?”He requested, holding his hand out.

“Sure thing,”I nodded, handing over the small bag. He gave me a smile as he accepted it, keeping his hand in mine for a moment before slipping it out.

Sighing, I admired him as he planted them, his blonde hair moved out of his face. Letting myself watch him work for a moment, I bit the inside of my cheek to hold in a smile as he wiped his forehead.

“What are you looking at?”He asked, giving me another soft smile.

“Just you,”I answered simply. I mean why lie about it? I like looking at him, I like admiring him, and he should know that.

“You always are, aren't you? You gonna be ready for tonight?”He checked.

“I mean that is why I’ve been beside you all day.”

I'm pretty sure he already knew that.
