A chilling air current, unwelcomely stroked the back of Jinto's neck, as he looked on at the unconscious body before him.Damar... what would you do? You always told me to lookout for my own kind. To lookout for myself. If Casian's really are bad, then perhaps showing kindness to Juri will be the catalyst for change? Forgive me Damar! I'm gonna help Juri! Besides, I need to set the record straight and tell her how amazing you are!
The Tamer of Flames plucked Juri up from the floor like a rare, delicate flower and headed home.
Meanwhile in the distant plains, a man's valiant struggle against an overpowering entity was desperately coming to an end...
"Damar (pant, pant) let's end this charade! It's time for me to cut you down!" Frederick bellowed.
"Oh really now? But you can barely stand. How do you plan to cut me down? Unless you plan to fall on me? That might work." Damar chimed sardonically, with a storm of embers revolving around her.
"DAMAR!" a voice boomed! The very voice was forceful like a bullet. Commanding. Authoritative. Such that a waterfall would freeze in motion were it commanded to by such a voice.
Damar's embers immediately vanished, extinguished by the air pressure alone...
Unease plagued her face...
Frederick looked down, wrapping his hands around a silvery blade protruding from his stomach, doused in his own blood, "What-what trickery (cough) is this..?"
Damar's expression screamed a silent message. She hopelessly wanted to tell him that this wasn't her doing! But in the presence of the possessor of authority, all she could do was watch Frederick crumple to the floor...
"Damar... do you dare to show empathy to any other, except the Origin? Wipe that disgusting expression off of your face and finish your food! Look at you! Playing kiss-chase with the lesser species... it makes me sick!" the authoritative being chastised, as he strode towards Damar. His every step, causing the blades of grass to bow in fear.
"Sakar... feeling grumpy because you can no longer lick Dharun's boots?" Damar scoffed with a sarcastic pout.
"Until Dharun is freed, I am in command of the Origin, you will do well to remember that... Unless you wish to challenge me for the position of power?" Sakar threatened, whilst the same bloodied blade extended from his forearm, lightly grazing Damar's cheek.
DM!
At once, the caustic flames billowed from her! Refusing to falter! Refusing to bow before he who loomed over her.
Sakar's tongue moistened his lips in excitement. The wind carried his long ponytail like a trailing wedding dress, as his slit-pupils dilated.
Miraculously, The Steely Stallion stood! "It is easy to act brave, whilst you are an invulnerable freak. We humans are the true champions upon this Earth. From our fragility, might is born! Once I slay her, you're NEXT, Mr Sakar!"
Sakar's face contorted in amusement, "ME!? I'M NEXT!? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! Did you hear that Damar!? This is what happens when you make an inferior life-form feel important. Go ahead and strike down Earth's MIGHTY champion for me..."
What on Earth am I doing? Why did I bother saving her? Sure, I've diverted Sakar's attention away from her but... what now?
Damar extended her hand with an open palm.
You fool! I don't need your help! But, for the sake of my plan, I'll have to follow Sakar's orders, for now...A furnace of fire consumed Frederick! The dark flames, wickedly danced upon his body in celebration of their feast.
"Good, that is satisfactory. You have quelled my suspicions about you, for now woman. However, do not assume that you are never being watched. That we are not privy to your schemes. For indeed, I am well informed. You wander the globe, freely; as if you do not have a purpose to serve. You lay in wait, slaying any foreigner who happens upon this land, in a futile effort to protect Jinto from pain and tragedy. Know this. You will never avert our plan. Jinto and Jaleel will not live the life of mediocrity and peace that you so desire for them. Once the indelible dye of hatred is cast, we will come and collect what is ours," Sakar lectured, as he began to leave.
Damar seemed almost entranced. Staring at the burning Frederick. For within those ghostly flames, she saw the vivid memory of when she and Jinto were tragically separated.
Oh Jinto... sometimes I think I made the wrong decision. Had I stayed to guard the cave. Had I not chased after him, perhaps it would be just you and me right now. Instead, you're stuck among fickle humans... with a name that is not yours... but, it was a necessary sacrifice. You'd never be free, had I not made sure that he was gotten rid of.
"No need to stare so longingly at a burning corpse. That human trash is nothing. Rejoice! You are Origin. Your affection can only extend to other Origins. Seldom do humankind, ever earn the countenance of our proud race. That smouldering mess, was not among them..." Sakar uttered, before vanishing instantly.
The pensive Origin woman, looked surprisingly human as she knelt down beside Frederick, "It's true, I don't like humans much. Playing with you has made me soft... I don't need protecting from that freak. I don't need a man, least of all a human one to step in for me... well, I'm sure you've realised my flames aren't burning you. I can't promise the same mercy will be afforded to you the next time we meet, Stallion."
Frederick looked up and the blaze was extinguished as swiftly as Damar's departure.
Jinto... you seem to be a walking curse...The battered Stallion sealed his wounds with his metallic Qudra and crawled determinedly to the back entrance of Melanina.
Frude, Evera... Even Jaleel cannot know about it. It would only cause panic and harm. The next time I see that Damar... I'll-I'll end her once and for all! Then that Sakar will be next. I alone shall bear this burden. I alone, shall protect Melanina. Although... heh, just standing up right now, seems like a distant dream...The black cloak of unconscious, kidnapped his sight...
