The moment Killua saw the enemy soldiers rushing toward Gon and his unit, everything blurred. The pounding of his heart drowned out the sounds of war around him. He didn't think—he acted. His instincts, honed over years of training, kicked in. Without hesitation, he sprinted toward Gon, his eyes locked on the advancing soldiers.

"Gon!" Killua shouted again, his voice lost in the cacophony of clashing steel and battle cries.

Gon spun around, his expression flashing with fear and anger. "Get out of here, Killua! This isn't where you're supposed to be!"

But Killua ignored him. He couldn't—wouldn't—leave. The enemy soldiers were bearing down on Gon's unit, and Killua knew Gon needed him, whether he admitted it or not.

With a swift, practiced motion, Killua drew his own blade, the weight of it familiar in his hands. He didn't wait for Gon's command. He leaped into the fray, his blade slicing through the air as he intercepted the first wave of soldiers. The clang of steel against steel rang in his ears as he fought, his movements quick and precise. Years of training had prepared him for this, and despite the chaos, Killua's focus was sharp.

Beside him, Gon fought fiercely, his sword flashing as he cut through the enemy ranks. The two of them moved in sync, as if they had trained for this moment all their lives. Every step, every swing of their blades was perfectly coordinated, as if they were reading each other's thoughts.

But the battle wasn't just theirs to win. The enemy was relentless, and despite their skill, the tide of soldiers kept coming. Killua felt the strain in his muscles, the exhaustion creeping in as he fought to keep the enemy at bay.

"We need to fall back!" Gon shouted over the noise, his voice hoarse from yelling commands. "We can't hold this position much longer!"

Killua nodded, breathing heavily as he parried another attack. He could feel the weight of the battle pressing down on him, but he refused to let fear take over. They had to survive this.

"Gon, we need to move!" Killua shouted back, his voice sharp with urgency.

Gon gave a curt nod, his eyes scanning the battlefield for a way out. "Knights, fall back!" he commanded, his voice cutting through the chaos. "Regroup at the ridge!"

The knights, battered and weary, began to retreat, forming a defensive line as they moved away from the advancing enemy. Killua and Gon stayed close, covering their retreat as best they could. The enemy soldiers pressed in from all sides, but Killua's blade moved faster, his adrenaline pushing him forward.

But as they neared the ridge, Killua felt something shift—a moment of hesitation, a flash of uncertainty.

He turned just in time to see an enemy soldier break through the defensive line, his sword raised high, aiming for Gon.

"Watch out!" Killua shouted, his heart leaping into his throat.

Gon barely had time to react. He turned, his eyes widening in surprise as the soldier lunged at him, but before the blade could strike, Killua moved. He threw himself between Gon and the enemy, his own sword clashing against the attacker's with a bone-rattling force.

The impact sent Killua stumbling backward, but he held his ground, pushing the enemy soldier away with a fierce strike. The soldier fell, and Killua stood over him, breathing heavily, his chest heaving with the effort of the fight.

"Killua, are you crazy?!" Gon's voice rang out, filled with both relief and frustration. "You could've been killed!"

Killua turned, his eyes locking with Gon's. "I'm not going to let you die here, Gon."

Enough, stop it

Hours passed, and as the sun began to set, the battle finally started to die down. The enemy soldiers had been pushed back, but at a heavy cost. The battlefield was littered with fallen knights, and the ground was stained with blood. The air was thick with smoke, and the cries of the wounded echoed through the haze.

Killua and Gon stood at the edge of the ridge, looking down at the aftermath of the fight. They had survived, but the toll was heavy. Their unit had been decimated, and reinforcements wouldn't arrive for days.

Gon's face was hardened with exhaustion and frustration, but there was a glimmer of relief in his eyes as he looked at Killua. "You shouldn't have come here."

"I couldn't just sit back and do nothing," Killua replied quietly, his voice laced with exhaustion. "Not when I knew you were out here, in the middle of all this."

Gon sighed, shaking his head. "I get it, but you put yourself at risk. I can't fight if I'm worried about you."

Killua's heart clenched. This was exactly what he had feared—that Gon would worry more about him than the battle itself. But Killua had made his decision. He wasn't going to let Gon face this alone, no matter how dangerous it was.

"I'm not going anywhere, Gon," Killua said firmly. "I came here to make sure you're okay, and I'm not leaving until this is over."

Gon's expression softened, but there was still worry etched in his features. He didn't say anything for a long moment, but Killua could see the conflict in his eyes. He knew Gon wanted to protect him, to keep him safe, but there was no way Killua was going to stay out of this fight.

"Fine," Gon said at last, his voice quiet. "But if you stay, you fight by my side. No more reckless stunts."

Killua nodded, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Deal."
