Killua moved through the crowd, his heart pounding like a war drum in his chest. The grand hall was filled with the kingdom's most powerful nobles, each one vying for favor with the queen. Her loyal guards lined the walls, their expressions cold and watchful. The weight of the plan pressed heavily on Killua's shoulders, but he couldn't falter now. Everything he and his allies had worked for hinged on this moment.
At the head of the hall, his mother sat, a vision of cold, regal power. Her every movement was controlled, precise, and her eyes scanned the room with the careful, calculating gaze of someone who knew they held the strings to everything. Next to her stood his father, Silva, a silent sentinel of authority and strength. Their presence together was suffocating.
Killua's eyes darted to the far side of the room, where Gon stood, watching with the same intense focus he always had. They had agreed that if anything went wrong, they would act together. Gon had positioned himself near the knights and guards who were sympathetic to their cause, ready to strike when the signal was given.
But the pressure was mounting. The plan had to go perfectly, or all of this would fall apart.
Killua turned his attention back to the crowd, his eyes scanning for the familiar faces of Lady Sylva and the others who had pledged their loyalty to him. They were scattered throughout the room, hidden among the courtiers, waiting for his signal.
The queen rose from her throne, her voice cutting through the room with effortless authority. "My loyal subjects, we are gathered here tonight not just to celebrate, but to recognize the strength of our kingdom. It is through order and control that we have maintained our prosperity, and it is through loyalty that we shall secure our future."
Her words sent a chill down Killua's spine. The room was silent, save for the murmur of approval from her most devoted followers. It was all a façade—a show of power designed to crush any dissent. She believed she was invincible.
Killua clenched his fists at his sides. Not for long.
As the queen continued her speech, Killua subtly moved closer to the center of the room, positioning himself where his voice would carry. His heart pounded in his chest, but he forced himself to remain calm. This was it—the moment of truth.
When the queen paused, her eyes scanning the room for acknowledgment, Killua took a deep breath and stepped forward.
"Enough!" he shouted, his voice cutting through the air like a blade.
The room fell into stunned silence. All eyes turned to Killua, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze.
The queen's cold gaze locked onto him, her smile vanishing. "Killua," she said, her voice low and dangerous. "What is the meaning of this?"
Killua's heart raced, but he stood tall, his voice steady as he spoke. "This kingdom doesn't belong to you, Mother. It belongs to the people. You've torn it apart for your own ambition, and I won't stand by and let you destroy it any longer."
Murmurs spread through the crowd, shock and uncertainty rippling through the gathered nobles. Some looked fearful, others intrigued. But Killua wasn't done.
"For too long, you've ruled through fear and manipulation," he continued, his eyes locked on the queen. "You've pitted us against each other, orchestrating wars to tighten your grip on the throne. But it ends now."
The queen's eyes narrowed, her face darkening with fury. "You dare speak to me this way? After everything I've done for you? For this kingdom?"
"This kingdom doesn't need you," Killua said, his voice rising. "It needs freedom. It needs leaders who care about the people, not their own power."
