XX: Wilted Flower
When Stars Fade | Beauty and happiness are not eternal.
Minho's Point Of View
"By the way, I'm starting to feel weird again. I think I'm shifting back to the parallel realm tonight."
Those words pierced through me like shards of glass, each syllable a painful reminder of the reality I feared most."You feel weird again?" My voice cracked, and tears spilled from my eyes, each drop a testament to my refusal to accept this cruel fate.
It hadn't even been a month since she came back, and now she was leaving me again?
"Mhm." She hummed softly, stepping closer, yet the distance between us felt insurmountable.
"I'm going to miss you." Her hand rested on my cheek, warm yet heavy with unspoken goodbyes.
I shook my head, disbelief washing over me. Tears flowed freely, and I felt utterly exposed, as if my heart were laid bare before her.
I didn't care how weak I seemed in that moment; without her, I was a shell, utterly miserable.
"No... you can't leave me again, Iris. Not yet." My chest heaved as I struggled to breathe, the weight of my desperation pressing down on me.
"I'm sorry, Minho. I can't control it, but I promise I won't take as long as I did last time." Her weak smile shattered me further, a flicker of hope in the midst of despair.
"I can't live without you, even for a second. You've become my everything, Iris. You're the reason I wake up each day."
"Don't say that," she whispered, her cold fingertips gently wiping away my tears, yet her touch felt like ice against the fire of my heartache.
"You have to be strong. We'll get through this together, I promise."
But even as she spoke, I could feel the impending loss like a storm cloud gathering above us, ready to unleash its fury.
