The week seemed to go by pretty fast, and soon enough it was the weekend again. Summers here, and school is out in about 3 weeks. Yay. More time for me to think about depressing things.

I've become pretty close with the guys lately, especially Luke and Ashton. I'm actually hanging out with them later. I still cant seem to forget about my small feelings for Ashton though.

"Mom, is it okay if I hang out with Luke, Calum, Ashton, and Michael later?" I asked my mom.

"Sure thats fine, is one of them picking you up?"

"Yeah, Luke is." I told her. "Do you know what today is Mom?"

"No, what is today?" She asks.

"Today is 1 year since...you know." 10 months ago, our lives changed. 10 months ago, I became a totally different person.

"I know you're upset sweetie, I am too. But I think you should try to stop thinking about it all the time. Counting the days probably isn't helping."

"I. But can I ask you something mum?"

"Sure what is it?"

"How are you so happy all the time?" I asked her.

I could tell she had to think about it.

"Honestly, it's because I try not to think about it. I try to do things that make me happy. I know that this has severely devastated all of us, but sulking and being sad all the time isn't going to reverse what happened. Yes Allison, I'm still very sad, but I try to stay happy for you. I need you to be happy, because you being sad all the time just makes it a hell of a lot harder for me."

I thought about what she said, and it all makes sense. "You don't think I try not to think about it either?"

"No, I know you do hun. I know it hard, but just try being happy. Hanging out with your friends, that's a very good sign that your becoming well again." She said.

"Thanks mom. I love you."

"I love you too."

Luke texted me saying that he arrived. I got in the back because Ashton was with him. I was still really upset, and I was trying to hide it, but I guess it didn't work.

We were in the car on the way to Michael's, when Luke asked "What's wrong?"

Do I tell him? "Nothing" I told him.

"Alli we know something's wrong, just tell me. I can help you." Ashton said and slightly smiled.

What have I got to lose? "Okay, this will take a while though. Can we stop somewhere to talk?" I asked.

"Sure."

We stopped at the park and sat on a bench. Ironic isn't it?

"Whenever you're ready." Luke told me.

I took a deep breath. "I'm just gonna start from the beginning." Ashton nodded.

"Okay, so I haven't always went to school here with you guys. I used to live with my dad and I went to a different school. My parents got divorced when I was 7." I looked at them and Luke signaled me to continue. "My dad got custody of me and my sister, Becca. Shes my twin, but not identical. Despite the divorce, our dad let us see our mom a lot. A few days a week and on the weekends sometimes we got to visit her." I stopped to think for a second, then continued. "One day, actually a year ago today, Becca and I were visiting out mum. We all decided to go to the beach, since it was very warm outside. Becca got there before us. She was at a friends house, and her friend dropped her off. My mum and I went to get some snacks to take with us, and we were supposed to meet her there." I could already feel the tears forming in my eyes. "Mum and I hand arrived yet, but Becca couldn't wait to swim. There was a really strong current, and for some reason there was no lifeguard there. Becca was pulled out to the deep water by the current, and couldn't swim because of the waves. Mum and I were walking, almost there when we go a call from a paramedic. She had drowned." I was now sobbing.
