I tried talking to Ashton for the rest of the weekend. I knew that something was wrong, and apparently it's my fault, but I have no idea what I did. That Monday in school was terrible, especially in the classes that I have with only Ashton, and none of the other boys or Julianna. I had no one to talk to, and I felt so lonely. Ashton was so close to me, but I couldn't talk to him in the middle of class about whatever was wrong.
I was going to ask Michael if I could go to their band practice that night, but if I'm making Ashton upset, I don't wanna show up and distract him. As I was sitting on my couch thinking about what to do, I got a text from Luke.
penguin: aye, are you home?
me: yes, why?
penguin: yo come to your door, I'm getting bored out here.
I smiled to myself and lazily walked to the door, opening it to see Luke standing there with a stuffed penguin.
"Luke, why are you here, and why are you holding a penguin?"
"Because I know you're upset that Ashton isn't talking to you right now, and I would tell you why, but I honestly don't know the reason. He's only talking to Michael and I right now, and the only person he's told is Michael. I didn't even see him talk to Calum much at practice earlier." Luke told me.
"Alright thanks Luke."
"No problem. I should probably get home now because my older brother Jack is home from college, so I want to see him a little more before he leaves." He smiled and gave me a hug before leaving.

The next day in Chemistry, I noticed Ashton walk out of the classroom with a bathroom pass. This was my only chance to talk to him, because he hasn't been coming to the cafeteria to eat. I quickly asked the teacher to go get a drink, and walked out to the water fountain, which was right by the bathrooms.
I waited only a couple minutes, until I heard crying coming from inside the bathroom. I had never heard Ashton cry before, but I knew that it was him. After waiting for a few more minutes, Ashton came out, and when he saw me, he looked like he was going to start crying again, and he just seemed so upset to see me in general.
"I-um.." he stuttered.
"Ashton, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Please don't act like you don't know." he said, as I saw a tear run down his cheek.
"Ash, I wouldn't lie to you. Please trust me. I have no idea what I did." I said honestly. "Can we just talk, seeing you this upset makes me feel sad." He swallowed hard and nodded. We walked to a bench and sat down.
"Ash, can you just start by telling me why you have been so upset?" he nodded again.
"Well it was the night of the party, and I was looking everywhere for you." he said, his voice shaking. "And I saw you and Calum come down the stairs, and thought nothing of it. But then people started saying that you guys umm.. you know, and that you were both sober when it happened. This was about half an hour later, and I went to ask Calum if it was true, and he said it was."
"Ashton, Calum and I didn't have sex. We went upstairs looking for you. Calum was probably drunk by the time you asked him about it. I cant believe you could ever think I'm stupid enough to do that to you." I said. "Besides, I could never like Calum in that way. You don't realize how important you are to me"
Ashton just smiled and wrapped his arms around me. I hugged him back, and I was so glad that it was all just a misunderstanding.
