Harriette leaned against a lone tree across the street from number 4 Privet drive, staring at the house with pursed lips and a blank look across her face.
Being back here...of all places, brought back memories she'd rather keep stay buried for the rest of her life.
She knew what she told Dumbledore, she knew she said she was content to wait but she wasn't, she couldn't in good conscience leave Harry here to deal with the Dursleys alone.
The white haired witch had gone through that for half her life, always being stuck with them, dealing with their rules, their words...their abuse.
She will not have Harry endure that longer than he needed to.
It's only been two days sense the Wizengamot meeting and she couldn't wait any longer to see the boy, she'd never forgive herself.
Especially knowing what the date was, and what happened.
For it was June 23rd, the day of her cousin's birthday, the day that they all went to the zoo and she learned she could talk to snakes for the first time.
They were all gone at the moment, at the zoo and Harriette had used the time to scope out the house until they got back.
She had found that the Blood wards around the house had been altered, slightly just within the last day. And the only one who knew of the wards around her relatives house was Dumbledore.
It seemed he hadn't wasted any time with trying to dissuade her from entering the premises, even though he had no reason to believe she knew where Harry actually was.
She couldn't deny that Albus Dumbledore was a smart and cautious man who planned for every outcome.
Even if she disliked his methods, even if she couldn't stand his second chances and mercy to the enemy, she could begrudgingly admit that his plan, back in her world had worked.
It Just...also brought with it a whole lot of loss.
All those people, her friends, the innocent children, the muggles...how much life could've been saved if he had just came out to her and told her everything that he knew?
She doesn't think she'd ever be able to fully trust the man, or get on board with how he does things but...but this was a new world, different people.
She had to at least play nice with him, and the other people she'd rather not.
Like...the Weasleys.
She shuddered just thinking about them and all they did to her. But, one of the first things she checked when she had gotten control of the Potter vaults was if there was a Betrothal Contract written up for Harry, like there had been for her but much to her surprise there wasn't.
In her world, the Weasleys were being paid monthly from her vault until she had taken everything out of Gringotts and stored it at Grimmauld Place inside her trunk.
It wasn't enough to cause concern, but enough to help a household with seven children.
But in this world, there was nothing of the sort happening behind the scenes, nothing at all.
In this world...it seemed the Weasleys were...maybe, somewhat half way decent.
The thought, left a bitter taste in her mouth.
She'd continue to keep on eye on them, just in case and maybe warn Harry to be cautious but unless they did something she really couldn't act on it.
Her main concern had to be her son and Harry, she had to protect them, no matter what.
