I gripped her ass firmly as I pulled her closer towards me, our pelvis's comfortably rubbing against one another.

She stared down at my lips with her soft eyes but hesitated, I could sense the fear in her body language.

I peered into the depth of her eyes for a moment, sensing that she was battling the desire to kiss me but also excessive nervousness.

Giggling softly I released the hold I had and removed my hands, "I'm going to fall back. I don't want you uncomfortable."

She struggled to respond, "I-I'm n-not un-uncomfortable."

"Hmm. It's okay. It's just not your thing and I get that."

I'd been rejected before, even though this didn't feel like that I wasn't going to push her or her limits unless she wanted me to.

"I think you're beautiful," she said, "I just don't want to be confused. I've had quite a bit to drink tonight."

"I respect that. No pressure," I replied casually.

Not to be cocky, but I practically had women throwing themselves at me daily. I didn't need to try to convince anyone to like me.

"I'm going to get back over to my friends, but I appreciate the dance and you for coming," she thanked me.

I gave her a slight side hug as I watched her depart.

When Zoey's friend Andre reached out to me inviting me to her birthday celebration I almost instantly wanted to decline, especially given the fact we're working on opposite ends of a major case.

But I figured it wouldn't harm me to go.

Something had convinced me to give it a shot, and I had. It had just failed.

Luckily this was a bar I regularly attended so I knew quite a few people that worked here.

Shrugging my shoulders slightly I walked over to the bar, I needed another drink at least.

The bartender was a girl I had a brief fling with back in college, a real familiar face to say the least.

She approached me, "Hey Saph, want the usual?"

I nodded, "Hey Kelsey. Sure. Double it actually."

"Whoa, rough night?," she asked, tucking a strand of platinum blonde hair behind her ear.

"Not really. Had a rough week."

"I could imagine. Being a lawyer is some serious shit," she placed a glass onto the counter in front of me, pouring the double shot of whiskey.

I lifted the glass from the counter, raised it to my lips and took it to the head, "Yeah it is. I like what I do though at least."

My throat slightly burned as the liquor flowed down.

She smiled, her bright blue eyes glimmering, "Well that's good beauty. I'm happy as hell and proud of you."

Sitting down on the stool I propped my hands onto my face and leaned closer towards her, "So how's life been for you? Seeing anyone?"

I have a toxic trait of flirting with whoever when I'm bored, me being drunk wasn't going to help that one bit.

Grabbing a water bottle from a nearby mini fridge she propped it up in front of me, "Not at the moment. You?"

I picked up the icy cold water bottle and started to drink, "Nope. It's a rough selection out here."

"I don't know how that would relate to you at all you're drop dead gorgeous you can have whoever you want."
