R O M A N
It was now 8:30, and Roe had just pulled into his aunts driveway, throwing his car in park.
He looked over at Dylan, a somber expression on her face.He still felt bad about her brother, but he had to accept that it wasn't anything he could do about the situation.
Even though it was kind of eating him up, he just said a silent prayer to himself that he was safe.He wasn't a religious man, but growing up in the streets around real killers and being involved with them, he decided on developing some type of faith.
Just for the simple fact that he didn't know if he would die prematurely, and he wanted to at least be on the right side of things when it came down to it.Dylan sighed lowly, pulling her braids to the left of her neck. She was beyond drained. She just wanted to go home, shower, and go to bed.
She wasn't even in the mood to eat anything. Her stomach had been in knots since discovering Colby sneaking out without a peep, so to say that her appetite was shot was an understatement.
She unbuckled her seatbelt and held onto Roman's door handle.
"Thank you. I really appreciate you coming with me."Her tone was so formal with him that you wouldn't have guessed that he was just inside of her days prior.
It was the main thing that frustrated him about her.
She was so hot and cold, but it was that type of behavior that irrationally piqued his interest. It wasn't like he could check her on that since they weren't technically together, but he was eventually planning on attempting to take things to the next level with her.
He was aware that it had only been a short amount of time, but Dylan was too beautiful and enigmatic to just drop her over something that could easily be nipped in the bud, in his mind.
He just ran his hand down his face, feeling the sleepiness take over his body.
"Let me walk you ta yo car."
They both got out at the same time and Dylan grabbed her keys out of her purse, pointing it in the direction of her car that was parked neatly on the curb. They walked in silence to her vehicle, with Roman's tall frame directly behind her. She opened the drivers door and tossed her purse in the passenger seat.
She then stood in front of the open door, right in front of Roman. He looked down at her with a blank expression. Not due to any attitude though, he was just that tired.
He reached out and grabbed her by the back of her neck, pulling her body into his.She squeezed his torso tightly, inhaling his light cologne that smelled crisp and fresh, like a pile of fresh laundry with a hint of sandalwood.
He rubbed up and down the small of her back gently, the moonlight illuminating them as if they were standing under their own personal spotlight.
Gazing up into his small, light brown eyes, his line of vision was focused on something above her head.
She didn't know exactly what he was looking at, or if he was looking at anything at all, but she took the opportunity to trace over his handsome features. Her eyes trailed over his large lips that were always moisturized and soft, then to his small nose that was pointed a little at the tip, and his nostrils that she noticed would flare a little whenever he was in deep thought.
