"Hey, I have something to tell you. Let's talk later, okay?"

Fourth perked up immediately, flashing a shit-eating grin as Gemini was dragged away by P'Tong to do his make-up. Gemini gave him a nod with an unnecessary peace sign (???) before the room swallowed him up. Fourth nodded to himself, feeling giddy for absolutely no reason as the stylist continued dressing him up.

Thing is, they couldn't talk in the entire event—which of course, goes without saying. After all, there were too many eyes on them, too many fans who'd lose it if they so much as shared a glance that lingered too long. And so, Fourth sported extra smiles, flirty replies and constantly kept touching Gemini—why? He didn't know. He just felt giddy at Gemini's "talk later". He didn't know what he expected, but it was Gemini.

And no matter what he was going to say, Fourth was more than 100% positive that he was going to be extremely happy.

Except that when Gemini managed to drag him away to drive him home, Fourth didn't expect his heart to actually stop for a couple of seconds as Gemini's words hit him like a wrecking ball. Gemini was staring at him, and Fourth blinked, trying to understand what he just said.

"Wh—What?" he asked, unsure if he actually heard him right because right now his brain was lagging behind his body, trying to catch up with the reality of the situation.

"I said I'm dating someone" Gemini repeated, more firmly this time, his whole body turning to face Fourth as if to make the words sink in.

Fourth's face drained of blood and his pulse quickened for all the wrong reasons. If Gemini was a bit more observant, he would see how Fourth's ever-present smile faltered. But Fourth managed to regain his smile, eyes flitting sideways as he leaned back in the seat—wait. Did Gemini's lover be in this very seat?

"Oh" Fourth managed to croak, as Gemini turned to face him once again.

Gemini looked happy. And Fourth should be happy. In fact, he is happy because Gemini was happy. Right? That's how their... whatevership is supposed to be. After all, they're friends. They're best friends. The bestest friends, who have never had any romantic feelings for each other. Bestest of friends who have kissed. Multiple times. But that didn't mean anything, right? After all, it was for work. It wasn't like Fourth wanted to kiss Gemini out of work or anything.

Pfft.

Yeah. Nothing complicated here.

"And why are you telling me...?" Fourth asked, forcing a casualness into his tone that felt so painfully fake, he almost winced at the sound of his own voice.

Gemini's smile faded just a little as his gaze drifted down towards Fourth's lips. Fourth hated when he did that—ever since their scenes in "Moonlight Chicken," Gemini had gotten into the habit of watching his lips like he used to when playing Heart, who had to read lips. But now, it wasn't some cute leftover quirk from filming. No, it felt different.

Too different.

Fourth had recently learned that when someone looked at your lips, they wanted to—NO.

What in the fucking hell was that? Focus, Fourth.

Gemini cleared his throat, tearing away his gaze to focus outside, "You're my partn—working partn—best f—uh... colleague?"

What the fuck were they?

Fourth forced a chuckle, scratching the back of his neck, trying to loosen the knot tightening in his chest. "Is that what you wanted to tell me? That you're... you're dating someone?"
