The sound of retching filled the air as I stood by the car, arms crossed, a smug smile plastered across my face. Tanmay, Ekansh, and Sameer were all doubled over, vomiting their guts out like they’d just survived a rollercoaster from hell.
I leaned casually against the Porsche, flipping my hair back as if I hadn’t just turned their world upside down. "Really, guys?" I called out, not even trying to hide the amusement in my voice. "It wasn’t that bad!"
Tanmay, still hunched over, groaned and pointed an accusing finger at me. "You… you drive like a maniac!" he sputtered between heaves.
"Maniac? Please," I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "I was just having fun. You boys need to toughen up. Can’t handle a little speed, huh?"
Sameer, wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and shot me a murderous glare. "Little speed? You nearly killed us back there, Dhriti!"
I chuckled, shrugging like it was no big deal. "Oh, come on. You survived, didn’t you? And let’s be honest—my driving was epic."
Ekansh, bent over next to the bushes, waved his hand weakly. "I’ll… I’ll never let you touch my car again."
Tanmay's face was now pale, slumped against the car, his arms limp.
"I thought this was supposed to be nice and we will be nice friends through the drive, not a near-death experience."I gave them my most innocent smile. "You guys wanted to have fun. Well, wasn’t that fun?"
They all groaned in unison. I snickered, turning back to the car and running my hand along the smooth edge of the Porsche. "Honestly, I think the car loved me. Maybe she’s just picky about who rides in her."
Sameer, still looking like he wanted to strangle me, spat on the ground. "You… you’re dangerous. Reckless. You’re a menace on wheels."
I flashed him a wide grin. "Thank you, darling. I’ll take that as a compliment."
Tanmay finally managed to straighten up, his face still pale but with a resigned smile. "Well… at least she didn’t crash it."
Ekansh raised a shaky hand. "Barely."
I couldn’t help but laugh as I dramatically bowed in front of them."Hey, I got us here in one piece, didn’t I? You’re welcome."
The guys just rolled their eyes, clearly not as impressed with my driving skills as I was. Babies.
"Alright, alright, don’t be spoilsports. I’ll… uh… I’ll compensate," I huffed, crossing my arms.
Sameer, as if suddenly reborn from the ashes of his suffering, jerked his head up and stood up with lightning speed. The look on his face? Mischief, plain and simple. He dusted his pants off like he was preparing for some grand event and cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders back.
