This post will be deleted.

I decided to make a second part because I don't feel like writing this on the message board.

From what I said before, I will make changes to Chapter 1 along with some chapters on how the change affects the plot moving forward.

So for the changes I'm making, I thought about scrapping the Martha drug problem because I know as the story continues, I won't really focus on that. In the first draft, I didn't mention it at all. Layla's alcoholic issues were brought up in the first draft but were later brushed off, and didn't expand on that. So that's what I will pick up on but with the Martha situation, some of the ideas I had weren't working at all, and felt like they didn't fit in Book 1 when there will be many other things going on in the story. I will keep the drug problem as a thing of the past which was the plan (and is). However, I wanted to have that mentioned in the first chapter to have Martha's past struggles dawn on Sasha (+ typical gossip fame drama) but as I said, the ideas for that weren't working, and there isn't any room for that here in the story.

The main story beats are how Sasha and Layla cope with their mother's coma as well as the rift in their relationship, how Layla's alcoholic struggles taint her family's image along with their silence on Martha's coma (the summary will have some changes because of that). Plus other things and it's as simple as that. So I'm going back to the drawing board to implement Chapter 1 changes while the rest will remain the same (with some tweaks here and there).

Oh, and I forgot to mention... I will scrap the whole college meeting scene where Sasha and Kenneth come back from a meeting with a university professor (along with some dialogue changes in the aftermath between Grandma Chioma and Sasha). I just want to make changes because if Sasha is going to college later in the story, I want her motivation to make sense. However, with how things were set up, I am just going to scrap that and try to find ways her motivation to go to college makes sense since that's the driving force of the story.

You've reached the end of published parts.
