The days leading up to the raid were uneventful.
Most people didn't care for it, those who do are mainly frontliners or the ones participating in the raid.
In fact, the frontliners were actively questioned and even ridiculed for their attempt at clearing the game.
Most of my time was spent grinding my skills and weapons proficiency.
...
A group of roughly 200 hundred players are scattered around all 3 gates of the Fortress City Chiarflon.
"Potion's here everyone! Take it now! We can't give it to you during the raid!"
A group of players with less luxurious equipment and armor shouts towards everyone and walks around while dragging a chest around.
They're the alchemist group the Aincrad's Frontline group worked with.
The group wasn't a guild or a party or anything that would suggest even remotely the same amount of bond.
It was just a group of fighters who are on the frontline that agreed to work with each other for the greatest benefits, everyone would probably be scattered about and fight for themselves after this until the next massive event came up.
In fact, many didn't care nor joined this group or even the raid.
A little over 2000 people had died so far, I heard that many of them were beta testers, there were more people trying to fight but there were even more people quitting and dying, the amount of active fighters are somewhere around 4000 now and it's pretty universally agreed that the number will continue to be less and less.
Soon enough the alchemists disappeared, their levels weren't high enough to participate in the raid so they were made to sit outside the city walls just in case anything unexpected happened.
I had already gotten mine so I didn't bother, it still surprises me how much better the potion they crafted were, it takes about 3 normal potions for full health, while it only took 1 for these, and they distributed it for free too.
"The raid is starting soon guys! Prepare everything now!"
Although everyone tried to hide it, fear, nervousness or expectancy were clear to see.
That also includes me, I had to try and stop my hand from shaking while trying to make sure everything was fine with my equipment.
The plan was for a group of archers and players with high //hiding// proficiency to wipe out the archers above first, once they're caught or wiped the archers out, most likely the former, we'll start the attack.
My position was on the east side of the city, the same side me and Shinon chose for our scout job.
Speaking of her, I believe she's also included in the group that would be clearing the archers too, although I do not now know which one.
Soon enough, the bells rang and all of us sprang out of the forest, dagger users and archers were on top fighting, one of them was Shinon.
I diverted my focus back onto the battle, all the Lizardman surrounding the gates rushed at us, there were almost a hundred of them, while there were about 50 of us.
The tank with shields, armors and big weapons rushed in first, while the DPS like me and support players stayed behind and dealt with strays.
The tank's shield in front of me glowed and bashed multiple Lizardmen all at once, staggering them.
"Switch!"
He called, his body was still locked in post-motion and I rushed in with //Dash Strike// followed by //Slant// and //Vertical arc//, quickly neutralizing them.
