THE TALE OF THE BABY SNAIL's REVENGE

CHAPTER-3 : Final Revenge

As time passed, the baby snail grew larger, becoming a giant like his father once was. But his heart remained filled with vengeance. His only dream, his only purpose, was to take revenge on the humans who had brutally killed his family. Every day, the anger in his heart burned hotter, fueling his need for justice.

Determined to find a way, the now-giant snail searched endlessly for a way to exact his revenge. He spoke to every creature he could find, seeking a solution. One day, he came across an old, wise slug living deep in the forest. The giant snail, filled with desperation, approached him and begged for help.

“Old Man Slug,” the giant snail pleaded, “I’ve lost my family, my entire clan. I need to avenge them, but I don’t know how. Please, help me!”

The old slug sighed deeply, his voice tired and filled with sorrow. “There is no way to take revenge on humans, young one. We are too weak. They are too strong. We are helpless.”

The giant snail’s heart broke at those words. He cried out loudly, his sorrow echoing through the forest. But as the old slug watched the snail’s sorrow, he softened. “Wait,” he called out as the giant snail turned to leave. “There is one way… but it requires the ultimate sacrifice. You will lose your life in the process.”

The giant snail, without hesitation, said, “What life? I have no life without my parents, without my siblings. They murdered my entire family. If I must die to avenge them, then so be it.”

The old slug nodded, seeing the determination in the young snail’s eyes. “Very well. Listen closely. You must coat yourself in a deadly poison. Then, go to an open field and attract a bird to attack you. Let the bird grab you and carry you into the sky. When it flies near the humans’ drinking water pond, you must bite the bird’s leg. The bird will be startled and lose its grip, causing you to fall into the pond. The poison will seep into the water, and anyone who drinks from that pond will die within an hour.”

The giant snail nodded, but asked, “What if the bird flies in the wrong direction? What happens then?”

The old slug smiled sadly. “That’s the risk, my child. You must rely on luck and hope. But if you succeed, you’ll achieve what you seek.”

Determined, the giant snail made his way to a pond near the humans’ house. There, a family of doves lived nearby. Knowing he couldn’t rely on luck alone, the snail befriended the dove family, especially a young dove who listened to his story with great empathy. Over time, the two became close, and the snail shared his plan with the baby dove.

“I have to do this. It’s the only way to take revenge. Please help me,” the snail pleaded.

The baby dove, touched by the snail’s loss, nodded. “I will help you,” the dove whispered.

The day of reckoning arrived. The old slug prepared the deadly poison and gave it to the giant snail. The snail spread the toxic substance across his body, ready for the plan to unfold. The baby dove arrived, gently grasping the giant snail in its talons and lifting him into the sky. As they soared toward the pond, the snail looked up at his friend, smiling through the pain.

“Thank you,” the snail said, as a single tear from the baby dove fell onto his shell.

The dove released the giant snail above the pond, and as he fell, the snail felt a strange peace wash over him. As he hit the water, the poison spread, tainting the pond and ensuring that anyone who drank from it would soon meet the same fate as his family.

Slowly sinking to the bottom of the pond, the giant snail felt his life slipping away. But in his final moments, he smiled, knowing that he had fulfilled his purpose. His mind filled with thoughts of his parents and siblings, and he felt a sense of calm, knowing he would soon be with them.

“I did it,” he thought as his vision blurred. “I avenged you. I’m coming home.”

That night, during dinner, the human family drank from the poisoned pond. The father, mother, and son all fell ill and died within an hour, never knowing the price they had paid for their cruelty
