"No. Fucking. Way."
The crowd look up in awe. Nightmare Revenants in the flesh, just walked into the cafe.
Noel kept his head down, but too late on his part. His rivals just spotted him, and they're about to make a mockery of him.
"I didn't know this cafe served loosers guys, look who it is! Vengeance! The Pentakill Prince! Or should I say, The Pentakill fraud?" Braniac Jeered.
"Honey, stop! He's so upset he didn't win The Golden road 3 years ago. He's probably now washed up and spends his last remaining time loosing out here instead!" Ruby Added.
The rest of the team laughed as they continued to jeer Noel. Dalynn could see the calm anger on his face now, the Blank look. It was dangerous.
"Brian and Emily, If you're not here to get drinks, then leave. Do not pick on my customers." Dalynn said.
"C'mon now Dalynn, just poking a bit of fun! But why would you serve a looser like him?" Brian asked, making a disgusted face as he stepped 2 steps away from Noel's side, sitting himself at the counter.
"Who I choose to serve is none of your business. I opened this cafe for gamers alike. You pick on my customers one more time, and it's a permanent ban for all you lot in Nightmare Revenants."
"Okay, Okay, We get it, jeez." Brian said. He got up beckoned the rest of his team to leave.
"Real question is why do you serve them?" Noel asked.
"Like I said, I opened the cafe for gamers alike." Dalynn replied.
Seeing his rivals jeer him was enough to put him in a mood. It was close to evening, and Noel did not want to go back home Moody. As he drank from his coffee, Dalynn served up so Matcha for Noel.
"How'd you know Matcha Cools me down?" He asked.
"Please, we dated before. I know your Preferences, silly."
"Steven's lucky. He married you." Noel laughed.
"And Eryn's Even luckier. She married you." Dalynn replied, laughing.
"You're free to stay a little while longer till closing. I gotta clean up shop." Dalynn said, grabbing a towel and then heading off the clean the tables in the cafe.
Time flew by fast, and then soon, it was time to head back. It was 15 minutes till closing.
"Excuse me, Are you still open for a quick drinks? Could really use one." A man walking in asked.
"We have some cold brew left if you're okay, sir." Dalynn replied.
"I'll take the cold brew, then."
"Give me a few minutes sir, I'll be right with you."
The man approached the counter, sitting himself beside Noel. He peered over Noel's Phone screen, looking at the replay of 2021.
"Rough year, huh?" The man asked.
Noel sighed. "Yea."
"So is Vengeance still in there, or is it plain old married Noel now?" The man asked.
Noel looked up. He recognised the face he was looking at. "Oswin?"
"The one and Only."
Noel looked back down. "How'd you find me?"
"Word on the street is that you're hanging out here most of the time, sulking on the past and never wanting to move forward.
"I have moved forward. I'm married, I'm a Twitch streamer, I have my own problems to deal with. Life as you call it is fine for me."
