"So, we've pretty much settled almost everything, apart from the subs, which we're gonna find now, right?" Grace asked Noel as the team walked out of the building, the afternoon sun casting long shadows across the pavement.
"Not yet," Noel replied, glancing at the group with a thoughtful expression. "We still need to settle on a place for the team to stay during the season. It will be our main hub of operations."
"So, a house?" Zaw asked, raising an eyebrow as he adjusted his backpack.
"Not just any house," Noel replied, shaking his head. "They might be housing agents, but they showcase more than just houses. Empty spaces up for rent as a centralized location are sometimes hidden treasures."
"Sounds like a plan, but as long as it's nice and it isn't a dump," Charles added, a hint of concern in his voice.
The group continued walking, their conversation drifting back to the subs they needed to recruit. As they rounded a corner, Noel pulled out his phone, glancing at the notes he had made. "I've got a couple of candidates in mind. One is Javier Ang, known by his IGN 'Zenker.' He's a Singaporean and seems eager to join us. The other is Jun Ming, who goes by 'JUN.' He's also from Singapore but is still on the fence about the whole thing."
As they walked, the team discussed their potential recruits, Noel spotted a small café up ahead and suggested they grab a drink.
Once inside, they settled at a corner table, the chatter around them providing a comforting backdrop. Noel pulled out his phone again, this time texting Jun Ming and Javier to see if they were available to meet. After a moment, he received a reply and glanced up, addressing the team. "They're on the way."
Grace raised her eyebrows. "So, what's up with Jun Ming?"
Noel hesitated, then sighed. "He mentioned getting a contract from Nightmare Revenants."
Zaw's eyes widened. "Ain't no way. Don't tell me he's taking it?"
"I mean, He's on the fence right now," Noel replied, considering the situation. "So let's try to sweeten the deal to make it work for him."
"Javier might be easier to bring on board," Noel Added. "He seems really eager, and enthusiasm is key when you're bringing in subs."
After finishing their drinks, the team headed out again, energized by their discussions. As they walked, Zaw couldn't shake the fact that Nightmare Revenants were so quick to offer Jun Ming a contract.
Noel saw this. He patted Zaw on the back. "Relax. We'll see what we can do."
As they reached the designated meeting spot, Noel spotted Jun Ming and Javier sitting on a bench, scrolling through his phone. He had a youthful demeanor, his face lit up by the screen. Noel gestured to the rest of the team, and they approached, exchanging casual hellos.
"Thanks for meeting with us, Jun, Javier" Noel said, taking the lead. "We wanted to discuss the potential of you joining ROG."
Jun Ming looked up, his expression cautious but curious. "I appreciate it. I've been thinking a lot about my options."
"Look, we're not like Nightmare Revenants," Zaw interjected, stepping forward. "If you join us, you'll be part of a team that values you and your contributions. Trust me on this, You do not wanna be treated the way they treated me."
Jun Ming's brow furrowed slightly, clearly weighing Zaw's words. "I've heard mixed things about them, so that's good to know. I even saw your little rant online. But what about the offer? I need to make sure I'm set up well."
