"So, today's the day?" Jun Ming asked.
"Yeah. No pressure. We've been unstoppable so far." Grace replied. Just last week, the season had finished up the round robin matches, and moved on to playoffs. ROG, who had their grueling match against DEX Club, closed out the game, earning themselves an undefeated streak, a score of 8 and 0.
Today, they face off DEX club again, this time in a best of 3, in the upper brackets.
As the team arrived at the Reality Rift Arena, they had one goal in their minds: remain undefeated.
The Reality Rift Arena buzzed with energy as the Vainglory Pacific League playoffs began in earnest. Thousands of fans waved banners and cheered for their favorite teams, their voices merging into an electrifying symphony of excitement. The arena's main screen flickered to life, showcasing the carefully curated playoff bracket.
The crowd roared as the camera zoomed in on the caster desk. Seated behind the desk were the league's beloved commentators: Abstract, David, and the charismatic Cherry, who had joined the panel for this critical stage of the tournament.
Abstract began, his voice cutting through the noise. "Ladies and gentlemen, after weeks of intense battles, it's time. The playoffs are here! We've got eight of the best teams ready to fight for the championship title and a coveted spot at MSI. Let's break down the playoff bracket!"
The screen transitioned to display the matchups to remind the crowd of the matches. As it appeared, Abstract continued on.
"Alright, folks, the stage is set! The playoffs are here, and we've got some massive matchups lined up for you," Abstract began, his tone brimming with enthusiasm. "Let's start with the Upper Bracket Semifinals. First up, the undefeated ROG International at 8-0 will face off against DEX Club, who come in with a solid 7-1 record. ROG's precision and teamwork will be tested against DEX's unbreakable firepower. This one's going to be a barnburner!"
Cherry chimed in, her excitement evident. "And on the other side of the bracket, we've got a clash of titans! Reborn SG, the only all-female team in the league with a 6-2 record, will take on Nightmare Revenants, who also stand at 6-2. It's a grudge match for the ages, with Reborn SG's underdog spirit facing the Revenants' cold, calculated gameplay."
Abstract gestured to the lower part of the screen as the bracket shifted to display the Lower Bracket First Round. "Now, let's talk about survival. Down in the Lower Bracket, it's do or die. We've got Reality Rift Gaming at 5-3 going head-to-head with Kingsman KGM, who've fought hard to make it here with a 4-4 record. The stakes couldn't be higher for these two teams."
David nodded and leaned in, his voice carrying a serious tone. "And last but not least, Taiwan Royal Geniuses, also at 4-4, will face POVA Phoenix, who managed to scrape in with a 3-5 record. Both teams are hungry to prove they belong in this playoff race, but only one will make it through."
Abstract concluded with a flourish. "It's win or go home for the lower bracket, and the upper bracket promises to deliver fireworks. Stay tuned, because this is the Vainglory Pacific League Playoffs, and the action is just getting started!" The crowd roared as the camera panned back to the gleaming stage, signaling the beginning of the matches.
Cherry took over with a bright smile. "The stakes couldn't be higher. For the teams in the lower bracket, every match is a survival test. Pull it off, and you might just live to see your MSI dreams come true! Will the teams pull an upset win? Will their will break? It's getting so exciting for me, Abstract!"
"And in the upper bracket, we have titanic clashes. Will ROG International keep their undefeated streak alive? Can Reborn SG, the only all-female team in this league, take down the Nightmare Revenants powerhouse? We'll find out soon!" Abstract continued.
