Nick!" Rick called from the front of the cell block.

Nick looked at his brother silently asking him to come with, and went to where Rick stood, with Daryl next to him.

"Thomas is how you know about this place right?" Rick asked gently.

"Yes."

"What type of crimes did he do?"

"Why is that important?"

"Because, they might be staying in the prison, just in a different cell block, but we need to know what type of crimes their leader did."

"You can't be serious! Letting a bunch of criminals stay here! You have a baby on the way Rick, you really want them sleeping one block over when there is a new born around?" Nick let out, he didn't want to tell them, he shouldn't have to.

"Nick, it's okay to tell them." Jacob said placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Nick whipped around and looked at his brother and saw that he was being serious.

"Go on Nico, tell them, tell them what a good time we used to have." Thomas laughed from the cage he and his fellow prisoners were in.

Nick whipped out his hand gun and pointed it at Thomas about to pull the trigger, but Jay saw it coming and wrestled it out of his hand. This just caused Thomas to laugh. Especially when Daryl and Rick held him back and took his weapons off of him.

"You know what son, I think I might of been wrong, you might have a pair of balls after all." Thomas laughed and Jay dragged his brother into a nearby cell.

"Why won't you tell them?" Jay asked.

"Would you tell them if it was you. Other than Daryl, does anyone know about what your father did?"

Jay sighed and looked away. "Exactly, only difference is, your father is dead, mine isn't, so you don't have to worry about him coming back and doing it all over again."

"No one is going to let him touch you Nick, especially if you tell them what he did, you don't have to tell them all of it, just some." Jay said trying to comfort Nick.

"I-I-" He didn't get to finish what he was about to say as Daryl knocked on the wall of the cell.

"Can you give me and Nick a minute please, Jay?" Daryl asked.

Jay nodded and walked out of the cell after making sure Nick was okay.

"Look kid, I know it ain't easy, but unless you say why grease monkey is in here, then Rick is going to let him stay in the cell block over."

Nick pulled his knees up to his chest and started playing with the switchblade he kept in his boot, he was scared and Daryl knew it, but Daryl also knew that any physical comfort would scare him more, so he stayed a safe distance away, sitting on the end of the bunk.

"You've guessed some of the stuff." Nick muttered.

"That scar on yer face, he give it to ya?"

"I wasn't lying when I said I fell down the stairs, not completely. He was drunk and still angry when I got back. I can't remember why, but he was, and I snuck back in the house and was trying to make it up the stairs before he realised but I tripped over something and fell down them, he heard and, and the wire caught my face instead of my back. I'm now almost completely blind in that eye. And that's not even the worst thing he did."

Not once did Nick look at Daryl while he spoke, but he knew the man was listening intently and so he talked about the one of the hundreds of horrible stories he had of his father, but in very little detail.

"Ye know I ain't gonna let him anywhere near ya, right." Daryl almost growled out but Nick knew he wasn't mad at him but at his father.

Nick nodded.

"Alright. Well Rick is making them a deal, half of what's left in the canteen, in exchange for helping them clear out a cell block and now we know that he'll probably be unpredictable and we already knew not to trust him." Daryl said.

"Daryl?" Nick said cutting the redneck off.

"Yeah?"

"What's going on over there?" Nick asks pointing to the other side of the cell block to where most of the group were standing out side of a cell.

"Hershel got bit and Rick cut of his leg to stop the infection from spreading." Daryl explained. "You didn't know?"

Nick shook his head. "No. We need more medical supplies right?"

"Yeah why?"

"Well, while you and the other go help clear out a cell block me and Jay can go to the infirmary and the medical supply room. We need the stuff and I may or may not know where the infirmary is."

Daryl took a deep breath and looked at the kid. "We run it by Rick and you are not taking a gun. You'll take your bow, and knives and Jay only, understand."

"Yes sir." Nick replied and followed Daryl out of the cell.

Rick agreed to let the two boys go and gave Nick his bow and knives back, and the two followed the group until they reached the laundry room and they split up, after the prisoners decided to not listen to any of the advise that the group had given them, causing Nick and Daryl to put the walkers out of their misery.

They made it to the infirmary and started to load up their bags with the things they absolutely needed first and then the rest with whatever space they had left. Once their two duffle bags were full, they left and started heading back to the cell block, when they came across Carl.

"The hell you doing out here?" Nick hissed not wanting to draw attention incase there were any walkers around.

"I-I was going to go to the infirmary to help Hershel." Carl stuttered

"Do your parents know you're here? Or anyone else?" Jay asked in a softer tone than his brother.

"You guys?"

Nick cursed and kicked the wall and pointed his flashlight at Jay. "I am not taking the fall for this, I've only just been allowed to go back out hunting."

"No ones asking you to Nick, but we do have to escort him back and we've cleared out the infirmary so we have nothing else to do." Jay said and Nick sighed.

"Fine, come on kid."

"We're like the same age." Carl complained.

"Actually I'm 2 years older than you so shut it."

They walked through the prison, on the way back to the cell block when they heard a gun shot.

"Go, get the supplies to Hershel, I'll go check it out." Nick ordered handing his bag to Carl and running off on the direction the shot came from.

He ran for less than 3 minutes and he found the scene. It was at cell block D and Thomas had a bullet in his chest and Rick was running after one of the other prisoners.

"What happened, we heard a shot?" Nick asked assessing the place and that was when he saw his father laying dead on the ground and two prisoners on their knees. "Aww come on! I wanted to do that."

"The hell ye doing here Nick?" Daryl asked glancing at the boy quickly, as he pointed his bow at the two remaining prisoners.

"Told ya, I heard a gun shot, came to check it out, glad I did." Nick said grabbing the switch blade from his boot and walked over to his father's body.

"Whoah kid what are you doing?" The ginger prisoner asked.

"Someone has to, or he'll come back. Might as well be me seeing as I didn't get to kill him." Nick snarled and plunged the blade into his father's eye socket so deep that half the handle was in his brain and left the knife there.

"Nick, keep an eye out for walkers." Daryl ordered the boy and he nodded and stood by the door, bow raised at the ready.

Rick came back and questioned the inmates after glancing at Thomas and Nick, and they came to an agreement and they all left to go back to their cell block, after Nick told them to leave the knife there after Daryl went to retrieve it for him.
