Once inside the gate Jay wrapped Nick up in a hug. He hadn't realised he was also in the fight, until he saw him next to Rick pinned against the fence by walkers.
"Are you okay?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, I'm good. Just wish this damned leg would hurry up and heal." Nick grumbled holding onto Jays shoulder for suport.
"You know, running, hunting and constantly being on your feet, definatly isn't going to help, it's just going to make it worse." Glenn said coming over to the other side of Nick to help him inside, even though Nick insisted he only needed one person to help him.
They helped him inside and up the stairs to Nick's spot on the perch and Nick sat on his matress and Daryl gave him his bow back. Nick gave him a nod and he left to go talk to Rick and the others, mostly about Merle, who was locked away in the common area.
Glenn hated the idea of having Merle around but Hershel said that his millitary experience would be useful, and he stormed off after Daryl said that he was one of them now and that he was staying.
Daryl went up to his side of the perch and sat down with a sigh. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't leave again, his brother was just too much of a pain in the ass to deal with alone, that and he also missed Jay and Nick.
"We never disgusted what a truly horrible name Nicodemus was." Daryl joked trying to lighten the air between them.
"Why do you think I never made it public knowlege and go by Nick?" Nick questioned, eyebrows rising.
"Eh, just figured it was another method to keep yerself more secluded from the group."
"Am I really that closed off?"
Daryl gave a light chuckle and nodded and Jay came up to them, balancing three bowls of noodles in his hands and handed one to both Nick and Daryl and sat next to eachother .
"Yes." Jay answered, "But everyone can see that your trying." he added after Nick went to throw a pillow at him, and he settled back down.
"How's yer back?" Daryl asked the older boy.
"Not too bad, had to get Hershel to restitch part of it." Jay answered honestly.
"What, why?" Nick asked surprised.
"Because I dived to take cover when the shooting started outside. I mean unless you wanted me to get shot then I beleive it was comepletly resonable."
"Why were you outside in the first place. What happened to our deal?"
"That deal was before the world changed." Jay argued.
"Yeah, but we don't have to worry about the dead trying to eat us, when we're taking it easy in here."
"Boys, that's enough!" Daryl scolded them. "Nick, what's done is done. Jay, in this cell block you are allowed to take time to heal. If you constantly need to be restitched then you aren't going to heal. And the same applies to your leg Nick, if you constantly use it, it won't heal."
The boys looked down, knowing that he was right and Daryl continued. "That's why, you two are going to be confined to this cell block and the common area. No leaving it until I say. If you leave it, you'll be locked in a cell for 24 hours."
The two brothers argued, claiming that it wasn't fair, but Daryl didn't change his mind and the boys just glared at him and they finished eating their food in silence and they went to bed without having said a word to eachother.
