"Lisa?"
"Mr. Johnson?"
"How's your wound?" Dean asked, concern etched on his face.
"It hurts a little," Lisa admitted.
Dean's brow furrowed,
"Then why are you driving? Let me drive you instead."Before she knew it, Lisa was sitting beside Dean. She couldn't tear her gaze away from him.
For some reason, he looked more attractive than ever.
His strong jawline, chiseled features, and piercing eyes captivated her.The black leather jacket hugged his broad shoulders, accentuating his rugged charm. The way he navigated the roads, confident and assured, left her breathless."Are you okay?" Dean asked, glancing at her.
"Yes," Lisa lied, her heart racing uncontrollably.
She felt like a teenager with a crush, her pulse skipping beats as Dean's hand brushed against hers and this was her first, after decades.
"It's hot in here," Lisa said, lowering the window. But the chilly air outside made her quickly roll it back up.
"Guess it's too cold outside," she laughed.
Dean chuckled, his deep voice sending a flutter through her chest. Her heart skipped a beat.
The ten-minute ride felt like an eternity to Lisa.
As Dean exited the elevator, Lisa hesitated.Dean noticed and stepped back out."Hey, what's wrong?" he asked.
Lisa didn't respond remembering the event that nearly took her life today along with Ella's, but Dean soon understood.
He offered his hand,"I'm here. Nothing will happen to you, Lisa."
Lisa's heart fluttered at the gentle tone and her name on his lips.
She nodded, and Dean led her into the apartment building."I know it's you," Lisa thought, her mind racing with emotions.
As they reached Dean's apartment, Lisa stopped him,
"Wait."
Dean turned, questioning.
"Before you go in, I want to thank you for saving my life and Ella's," Lisa said, her voice sincere.
Dean's expression softened,"You're welcome, Lisa."
Their eyes locked, the tension between them intimate.
"Thank you," Dean said, smiling.
Lisa's eyes sparkled,"To show my gratitude, can we go out for dinner tomorrow? Everything's on me."
"Wow! Nice way of asking a handsome guy out." She thought, embarrassed.
Dean protested,"You don't have to."
Lisa insisted,"I have to. Really! I want to show you my appreciation."
Dean's resolve crumbled.
"Tomorrow, 6:00 pm. Agreed!" She added.
As Lisa smiled, Dean's thoughts drifted,
"How can someone be this beautiful?"He was captivated by her hazel eyes, brown hair flowing down her shoulders. Her direct gaze, unlike ten years ago, made his heart skip a beat due to their matured glow.
Meanwhile, Michael in the station, finally mustered courage.
"Natalie."Natalie looked up, slightly guarded,
"What do you want?"
