There is also a very dark backstory to Adela containing:
Her birth was an act of her father buying her mother, and forcing her to conceive with him
Her mother died when she was five, brutally

She often thinks lowly of herself
Mentions of how she has thought about ending "it all"
Her first five years of her life her mother and her lived in a small, confined space of her father's castle, only being let out to fly for an hour a day when the servants could sneak them out.

But this story is also one of love, finding your family/creating your own, finding your voice and the courage to be able to say "this is who I am." And "you do not define me." It is also a story of friendship, and bonds that can never be broken. It is also one of lovely passion.
