35. Getting things settled

*the next day*

Nicks POV:

"Come on you can do it" Arthur says holding my hands as he walks up the stairs backwards helping me walk them up with some help as a little exercise to get me back on my feet

"Holy shit" I say finally breathing again after focusing on walking

I take the last step and firmly hold onto Arthur as I make it and he pulls me in for a hug and spins us around

"God you're doing incredible" he says excited

"I guess I cut myself short, maybe im back to normal quicker than expected" I chuckle as he places me back on the ground

I hold onto his hand as we walk back to my place which we still got to ourselves while Kara is still with her family

"Maybe I can go grocery shopping again by the end of the week" I say hopefully

"Lets not rush this, by the end of the week when Charles and I are moving our stuff into the van to fly out to Liverpool you're just gonna sit right here" He says as he leads me to sit on the couch "and do nothing but be pretty" he smiles

"You two cant all do that by yourselves, this is my stuff I should help"

"No, I said what I said, I want your ass sat on that couch drinking a cup of tea or something watching me and Charles carry the boxes downstairs so when we get back up I can see that beautiful smile of yours every time" he says and I can't stop smiling and looking at him

"You're such a hopeless romantic, you know that" I tell him

"Well isnt that what you like the most about me?" He smirks moving his face closer to mine

"I can think of something I might like more" I say teasing him

"Oh yeah? Is my charm not better than that?" I says kissing my cheek and I start giggling

"Compared to the night in Spain? I think its hard to keep up with that" I respond and he presses his lips on mine, his hand in my hair at the back of my head as he's on the couch with one knee next to me

"A bummer you have to take things slow, otherwise id definitely do something that will do more than that night in Spain" he smirks giving me a short kiss again

"Even more reason for me to get back on my feet again" I chuckle still holding onto his hand while looking at him

"How about I get us some food from the Italian across the street?" He asks me

"That would be great" I say and want to get up

"Nono, you're staying" he says and grabs the tv remote from the coffee table "you're picking a movie for us to watch while we eat dinner" he says and throws the remote to me and I catch it with a laugh

"Alright, I want th-"

"Spaghetti Aglio e olio, got it" He finishes my order

"Thank you" I smile

"I just know you" he says grabbing his wallet and walks out the door to get the food and I turn on the tv, searching for a movie on netflix, unsure what I want to watch

Scrolling through multiple genres I find one with talking baby and decide to choose that as our movie tonight, you cant go wrong with cheesy romcom

As soon as Arthur comes back with the food and we get comfortable on the couch with our pasta we start the movie. My eyes keep glancing at Arthur who is intensely watching the screen which is adorable

As the movie concludes with our empty bowls on the table and Arthurs arm around me while I cuddled up against him I just smile.

"Whats that grin for?" He asks

"Have you ever... you know... thought about having kids?" I ask him

"Probably... not that I can personally you know make them... but who knows" He says giving me a gentle push "what about you?"

I look at him all serious "I want to adopt a child" I say completely sure about it

His eyes widen at that "like right now?"

"Well not right this moment, adoptions take month of planning and getting accepted to raise a baby takes even longer so it might take a year if not more" I tell him and he nods

"Let me get this straight, you want me to have a child with you?" He says and I nod

"I cant think of anyone else that I would want go raise a child with and I know you're going to be an amazing dad" I respond and he smiles

"Okay then" he respond

"Okay? Like you want a child too?" I say surprised

"Lets sign up for adoption and hope for the best" he responds, my heart is beating out of my chest

"Are you serious?" I say again

"Anything involving a life with you is serious Nick" he says giving me a kiss on the top of my head "I dated a lot of girls before and one guy but with you I want to experience everything and that includes children" he tells me and I sit up to look at him

"You're way too perfect you know that?" I smirk

"Im not" he chuckles "im just trying my best" he adds and I gently kiss his lips with a smile

"You're gonna be an incredible dad" I say and see the happiness in his eyes

"not as good as you tho"
