The sun was setting over the bustling city as Jungkook walked through the gates of his university, his bag slung over his shoulder, his mind occupied with thoughts of the week ahead. It had been months since his trip to Paris, and although the distance between him and Jimin had once felt like an unbridgeable chasm, they had slowly begun to mend the cracks. Countless phone calls, late-night texts, and heartfelt video chats had become their new normal. They were both focused on their own paths—Jimin finishing his studies in Paris and Jungkook diving back into university life in Korea. But the love between them, the bond that had never truly broken, remained steady.

Jungkook let out a soft sigh, thinking of Jimin and wondering when they'd finally be together again. He knew Jimin was busy with his final exams, and they hadn’t set a date for his return. The wait was killing him, but Jungkook had promised to be patient.

As he approached the university gate, something caught his eye—someone standing there, their back to him, a familiar silhouette bathed in the golden light of the evening. Jungkook’s heart stopped. It couldn’t be. His eyes widened, his feet halting in place as his brain caught up with what he was seeing.

Jimin.

Standing there, his hands in his pockets, his hair slightly tousled by the breeze, looking as if he had just stepped out of one of Jungkook's daydreams.

“J-Jimin?” Jungkook whispered, almost not trusting his voice.

Jimin turned around slowly, his lips curling into that soft, shy smile that Jungkook loved so much. “Surprise,” he said, his voice a little shaky but filled with warmth.

Without thinking, Jungkook dropped his bag and broke into a run. His heart pounded in his chest, not from the exertion, but from the sheer joy and disbelief of seeing Jimin standing there. The distance between them closed in seconds, and before Jimin could say another word, Jungkook scooped him up into his arms, lifting him off the ground in one swift motion.

Jimin let out a surprised laugh, his arms instinctively wrapping around Jungkook’s neck. “Yah! Put me down!” he giggled, but his voice was light, full of happiness.

Jungkook spun him around, his own laughter mixing with Jimin’s. It was as if the weight of the world had lifted off his shoulders, and in that moment, all the time they had spent apart didn’t matter anymore.

When Jungkook finally set him down, their faces were close, and he leaned his forehead against Jimin’s, breathing him in, as if making sure he was really here, that this wasn’t some cruel dream.

“You... you didn’t tell me you were coming back,” Jungkook whispered, his eyes searching Jimin’s face for answers.

Jimin chuckled softly, his hands still resting on Jungkook’s shoulders. “I wanted to surprise you. I thought about telling you a million times, but… I don’t know. I wanted to see your face when I showed up.” He blushed, looking away for a second, then back at Jungkook. “Was it worth the surprise?”

Jungkook grinned, his eyes sparkling with joy. “More than worth it,” he whispered before pulling Jimin into a tight embrace. “I missed you so much. Every single day, I missed you.”

Jimin pressed his face into Jungkook’s chest, closing his eyes. “I missed you too. So much. But we’re here now, right? We did it. We made it through.”

They stood there for a moment, wrapped in each other’s arms, neither wanting to let go. It felt like everything was finally right in the world again.

After a while, Jungkook pulled back slightly, his face lighting up with an idea. “You know what this calls for?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Jimin tilted his head, curious. “What?”

Jungkook’s grin widened as he pointed toward his motorcycle parked nearby. “A ride. Come on, let’s go. Just you, me, and the open road. I want to show you our favorite place again.”

Jimin’s eyes sparkled with excitement as he nodded eagerly. “Let’s do it.”

Minutes later, they were speeding down the streets on Jungkook’s beloved Harley Davidson, the wind whipping through their hair, the city lights fading behind them as they headed toward the place where so many of their memories had been made. Jimin clung to Jungkook’s waist, his heart racing—not from the speed, but from the overwhelming sense of freedom and happiness he felt just being with Jungkook again.

The sun had almost disappeared by the time they reached the quiet hilltop overlooking the city, the spot where they had spent so many evenings talking about their dreams, their future, and each other. Jungkook parked the bike, and they both got off, walking hand in hand toward the edge of the hill where the city lights twinkled below them like stars.

Jimin leaned his head on Jungkook’s shoulder, sighing contentedly. “I forgot how much I love this place,” he whispered. “It feels like… home.”

Jungkook smiled, wrapping his arm around Jimin’s waist and pulling him closer. “It is home. Anywhere with you is home.”

Jimin lifted his head to look at him, his eyes soft and full of love. “I’m glad we found our way back to each other.”

Jungkook leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Jimin’s forehead. “We were never really apart,” he said quietly. “We were just... figuring things out. But we’re here now. Together. And I’m never letting go again.”

Jimin smiled up at him, his heart full. “Good,” he whispered. “Because I’m not going anywhere.”

As they stood there, watching the city below, the air between them was filled with a comfortable silence—a silence that spoke of everything they had been through and everything they had yet to experience together. The road ahead was still uncertain, but as long as they had each other, they knew they could face whatever came their way.

And that was all that mattered.
