Jungkook sat in the soft glow of the nursery, cradling their newborn son, Kang Soobin, in his arms. The gentle hum of a lullaby played softly in the background as the baby nursed, Jungkook's heart swelling with an overwhelming love he never knew was possible. It had only been ten days since Soobin was born, and despite the sleepless nights, his life had felt nothing short of perfect.
His husband, Kang Taemoo, was a successful businessman, well-known and respected in Seoul. They had built a beautiful life together-a marriage filled with love, respect, and support. Taemoo was not just a perfect husband but an amazing father, eagerly rushing home from work to spend time with their little family. Tonight, Jungkook eagerly awaited his return. Taemoo had called him earlier, saying he'd be home soon. But that call never came.
Instead, the phone rang, pulling Jungkook from his peaceful moment with Soobin. His smile faded as he looked at the screen-an unknown number. Confused, he hesitated before answering, wondering if it was a business-related call for Taemoo. But the moment the voice on the other end spoke, a chill spread through Jungkook's body.
"Mr. Kang Jungkook?" the voice was soft but urgent. "This is the paramedics. We regret to inform you that your husband, Kang Taemoo, was involved in a car accident. He... He didn't make it."
The world around Jungkook seemed to freeze. The voice on the phone faded into nothing but static. He couldn't comprehend what was being said. Taemoo? Gone? No, it couldn't be. It wasn't real. His fingers went numb, the phone slipping from his hand as the words kept repeating in his mind. He tried to stand, tried to move, but his legs felt like they were glued to the floor. The nursery, once filled with warmth and peace, now felt cold and empty.
Soobin shifted in his arms, reminding Jungkook of the tiny life he held. He looked down at his son, who was still blissfully unaware of the devastating news that had just shattered their world. Tears welled up in Jungkook's eyes, but they wouldn't fall. He was too shocked, too paralyzed.
Before he knew it, his in-laws arrived at their home, having been notified as well. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Kang, rushed to his side, shaking his shoulders gently. "Jungkook! Jungkook, say something!" Her voice cracked with grief, but Jungkook remained silent, his eyes still locked on Soobin. His father-in-law stood by the door, pale and shaken, his own grief pulling him into silence.
