Jungkook stood outside Yoongi and Jimin’s room, hands trembling as he twisted the hem of his shirt. His heart was pounding, his mind spinning with fear and frustration. Eunsoo’s sick words echoed in his head, threatening to consume him. He had no idea how to make it all stop, and he felt so helpless, so utterly lost. All he wanted was a quiet life for him and Soobin, away from this torment. But now… now it felt like that dream was slipping through his fingers.
As he took a shaky breath, the door opened, and he found himself face-to-face with Jimin, who gasped softly, startled to see him standing there, eyes closed, looking so small and fragile.
“Kookie?” Jimin’s voice was soft, full of concern, as he took in Jungkook’s haunted expression. “Why didn’t you knock, sweetheart?”
Jungkook opened his eyes, and they met Jimin’ s eyes that held only warmth and worry. “I… I didn’t want to disturb you both,” he whispered, his voice breaking.
“Come inside, koobun.” Yoongi’s calm voice reached him, and Jungkook looked up, seeing Yoongi’s gentle but tired face beckoning him forward. He stepped inside, feeling like he was carrying a weight that was too heavy to bear alone.
Jimin led him to the edge of the bed, where he sat down, hands fidgeting in his lap. He was quiet for a moment, trying to gather the courage to speak, feeling a lump in his throat that wouldn’t go away. Yoongi and Jimin watched him with patient, kind eyes, waiting, not pushing.
Finally, he looked up, his voice barely above a whisper. “It’s… it’s about Eunsoo.” He swallowed, trying to keep his voice steady. “He’s… he’s been sending me these awful messages. Roses… notes… threats. He wants me to marry him.” His voice cracked, and he took a shaky breath, feeling his heart ache. “He said… if I don’t, he’ll destroy Jeon Corp… and take Soobin away from me.”
Jimin’s hand tightened around his, a sharp gasp escaping his lips. His usually warm expression turned fierce, protective. “What? He… threatened Soobin?” Jimin’s voice trembled with anger and disbelief.
Jungkook nodded, eyes filling with tears. “He called Soobin… an ‘unwanted thing’… said he’d make him ‘disappear’ if I didn’t agree.” His voice broke completely, the words hanging in the air, suffocating.
Yoongi’s face darkened, his jaw clenched, and his hands curled into fists. His usual calm had been replaced by a fierce protectiveness that made him seem larger, stronger. “No one,” he said, his voice thick with emotion, “no one is going to touch you or Soobin. I swear it, Jungkook.”
Jungkook tried to hold back the tears, but they slipped down his cheeks, silent and steady. “Why me, Yoongi-hyung? I just… I just wanted a simple life. I wanted to raise Soobin in peace. Why can’t he just… leave me alone?” His voice was so raw, so full of pain, that it felt like his heart was breaking into pieces right there in front of them.
Jimin pulled him into a tight hug, holding him close as Jungkook finally let the sobs escape. “Shh… it’s okay, Kookie. You’re safe with us. We’re not going to let him hurt you,” Jimin whispered, his own voice thick with tears. He cradled Jungkook as if he could shield him from all the pain in the world.
Yoongi leaned closer, his voice soft yet determined. “Namjoon had an idea, Jungkook. It’s up to you, but… he thought that maybe… maybe you could marry Taehyung. Just on paper. It would give you the Kim family’s protection. Eunsoo would have to think twice before he tried to come after you or Soobin.”
