The night settled peacefully as Hoseok gently led Yeonjun to Haneul’s room, where the little one’s bed had been made extra cozy with fresh blankets. Despite being six, Yeonjun’s frame was so small and frail that he easily fit into Haneul’s clothes. After a warm bath, Hoseok helped Yeonjun into the soft pajamas, noting how they seemed to swallow his tiny form, yet somehow suited him perfectly.

As Hoseok tucked them both into bed, Haneul looked up at him with wide, serious eyes, clearly determined to make Yeonjun feel at home. "Don’t worry, hyungie," Haneul whispered to Yeonjun, patting the bed beside him. "I’ll stay with you."

Yeonjun hesitated, glancing up at Hoseok as if unsure, but Hoseok’s gentle smile and soft reassurance encouraged him. Haneul, in his innocent yet protective way, snuggled up close, holding Yeonjun’s hand with all the confidence of a brother.

Jungkook had just settled into the warmth of the bed, finally relaxing beside Taehyung when his phone chimed unexpectedly. Sleepily, he reached over, careful not to wake Taehyung, and checked the message. But as soon as he read the sender’s name Eunsoo his heart sank.

Opening the message, Jungkook felt a shiver run down his spine as he scanned the words. The message was filled with uncomfortable, lewd implications, words that felt invasive and wrong. He felt his face flush, not with embarrassment but with a creeping sense of dread. His fingers trembled slightly as he read over the message again, not sure if he had understood it correctly, each line feeling worse than the last.

A part of him wanted to delete the message and pretend it never happened, but he knew he couldn’t just ignore it. His gaze drifted to Taehyung, sleeping peacefully beside him, and he hesitated. Taehyung was so calm and protective, and just the thought of disturbing that peace felt wrong.

Yet, he knew he couldn’t hide this. Taking a deep breath, he gently shook Taehyung's shoulder, whispering, “Taehyung-shii… there's something I need to show you."

Jungkook’s words were broken and strangled with fear as he clung to Taehyung. “He… he’ll take Soobin away, Tae. He’ll separate me from Soobin… from you.” His voice was barely above a whisper, muffled by sobs as he buried himself in Taehyung’s embrace, trembling uncontrollably.

Taehyung’s heart clenched, feeling Jungkook’s fragile hold on stability slipping further with each breath. The helplessness in Jungkook’s voice, the sheer fear in his words, tore at Taehyung’s chest. He had never heard Jungkook sound so vulnerable, so desperately afraid and the fact that he was terrified of being separated from Taehyung too made his protective instincts surge.

“Jungkook…” Taehyung whispered, his voice soft yet steady, holding Jungkook even tighter. “No one will take Soobin from you. No one will separate us. I promise, Kookie. I’ll protect you both, no matter what it takes.”

Jungkook whimpered in his arms, his words tangled in sobs. He hadn’t realized how much he relied on Taehyung’s presence, how quickly he had come to trust Taehyung with his heart and his son. Taehyung had cared for him as no one else had, quietly fulfilling every need, every unspoken wish. With Taehyung, even the smallest concerns he had for Soobin vanished, as Taehyung never treated Soobin as anything less than family.

Taehyung gently stroked Jungkook’s hair, his fingers weaving through the soft strands as he whispered, “You’re safe with me, Kookie. You and Soobin… you’re my family.” His voice softened further, steady as he reassured Jungkook. “No matter what he does, I won’t let him hurt either of you. Not while I’m here.”
