Jungkook felt uneasy as he stared at his reflection in the mirror, his heart heavy with a strange sense of foreboding. He looked paler than usual, like someone who had been drained of all energy. The hollow feeling in his chest only deepened his sense of restlessness, but he had no idea what lay ahead-whether something good or bad was waiting to unfold.
With a sigh, he shook off the gloom and decided to start the day. He took a hot bath, hoping it would wash away the unease. After getting dressed, applying lip balm, and setting his hair in place, Jungkook glanced over to the crib where little Soobin was squirming, waking up from his peaceful sleep.
Jungkook smiled softly and hovered over his baby, whispering, "Good morning, my bun bun. How was your sleep, my little bun?" His voice was gentle but full of affection.
Leaning down, Jungkook playfully blew raspberries on Soobin's tummy, causing the toddler to burst into a fit of giggles. Hearing Soobin's sweet laughter, Jungkook felt the heaviness in his heart ease, even if just for a moment. These moments with his son were his anchor, keeping him grounded in a world that sometimes felt too overwhelming.
It was only 7:00 in the morning, but the early hours belonged to the two of them-mother and son. After their playful interaction, Jungkook carefully cleaned up Soobin, freshening him up for the day. He dressed him in a cozy bunny onesie, ensuring the little one was properly bundled up against the morning chill.
As Jungkook held Soobin close, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was coming-something he wasn't prepared for. But for now, he focused on his baby boy, finding solace in Soobin's bright giggles and wide-eyed curiosity. Whatever was on the horizon, Jungkook knew he'd face it with his little bun by his side.
Jungkook walked downstairs, holding Soobin close, and was greeted by the smell of breakfast wafting from the kitchen. He saw Jimin at the stove, diligently preparing food for the family. Despite being a working husband, Jimin never missed an opportunity to care for everyone. He was up early, as always, ensuring the family had a warm meal to start the day.
Jungkook paused at the doorway for a moment, admiring his brother-in-law and best friend. Jimin's dedication never ceased to amaze him. Jungkook wished he could do more to ease the weight on Jimin's shoulders. His heart filled with gratitude for how much Jimin did for them all, and it made Jungkook realize how much he had missed this closeness, this warmth in the house.
Gathering his thoughts, Jungkook took big steps towards Jimin, Soobin still cradled in his arms. It had been a while since he openly spoke to Jimin, and now he was ready.
"Jiminieee hyung," Jungkook called out, his voice softer than usual but full of affection.
Jimin turned around, his eyes lighting up with his famous eye smile as he took in the sight of Jungkook fresh and ready for the day. "Koomorning, my Kookie bun and little bun!" he beamed, his joy infectious as he reached out to pinch Soobin's cheek, making the toddler giggle.
Jungkook felt a warmth spread through him at the sight, and for a moment, the unease from earlier faded. This was what he needed-this connection with Jimin, his family, the people who had always stood by him.
It was time to open up again.
"Hyungiee, let me help you," Jungkook said softly, making an effort to open up. He gently passed Soobin over to Jimin, who noticed Jungkook's attempt and smiled warmly, accepting the little bundle of joy into his arms. Soobin immediately started babbling, "Chi...chi..." as he looked up at Jimin, his version of "Chim Chim."
Jimin grinned, holding Soobin closer. "My cute aegi, are you going to play with Chim Chim today?" he cooed, rocking the toddler gently.
In response, Soobin blew raspberries on Jimin's cheek, making him giggle. "You little mischief-maker!" Jimin chuckled, playfully poking Soobin's nose.
