Stella's POV

I was a bundle of nerves as I prepared for my date with Arnold. My room was a whirlwind of clothing, and I finally settled on a flowy sundress that made me feel like I could twirl forever.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come?" Allison teased, peeking through the doorway. "I could provide backup in case you trip and fall into his arms. Very romantic!"

"Very funny," I replied, rolling my eyes. "It's just coffee, and you're coming with me and Jenli, remember?"

"Right, just coffee," she said, smirking. "But if it were me, I'd be wearing my best 'date' outfit."

As we headed out, Jenli joined us, bouncing with excitement. "This is going to be amazing! I can't wait to see you two together. I swear, the chemistry was electric at that café."

When we arrived at the park where we agreed to meet, I spotted Arnold under a tree, looking effortlessly cool in his T-shirt and shorts. My heart raced.

"Hey, there's our hockey star!" Jenli called out, waving.

Arnold turned and grinned, his expression brightening the entire park. "Hey, ladies! You look great!"

Behind him, I saw Jordan and Enzo coming up, their playful banter echoing. "Let's hope Arnold doesn't trip over his own skates today!" Jordan shouted.

"Or fall for Stella too hard!" Enzo added with a wink.

I shot them a glare, my cheeks warming. "Very funny, guys," I said, trying to keep my cool.

Arnold laughed, shaking his head. "Don't mind them. They just want to see me embarrassed."

As we all settled on a picnic blanket, the atmosphere shifted from nerves to comfort. My friends quickly engaged Jordan and Enzo, trading jokes and stories while I stole glances at Arnold.

"So, Stella, can you show us some of your dance moves?" Jordan asked, grinning.

"Only if you show us some of your hockey skills!" I shot back, and the laughter echoed around us.

Arnold leaned closer, his blue eyes sparkling. "What's a 'flaming puck' anyway?"

"It's a dangerous move that usually results in failure," I teased, and he laughed again, the sound making my heart flutter.

As the afternoon went on, I felt the weight of my insecurities ease. Surrounded by friends and laughter, it felt like the world outside melted away, leaving just us—a cozy little bubble of friendship and unexpected connection.
