Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
My gaze is fixed on the train station clock, watching the moving clock hand.
Maybe she already left?
Maybe she won't see me if I wait here?
Do I look presentable? Am I overdressed?
My arms sweaty, my heart racing as i feel restless.
Maybe I'm overthinking it. I did come here fifteen minutes before our agreed time to meet.
I Gotta calm down.
Wait, is this the right day?
As I recall, she asked me yesterday before we separated on our way home.
"Jonah! Are you free this Saturday?" Samantha asked.
"Yeah?" I responded.
"Great! Meet me at the train station tomorrow at 10 A.M.!" she said with a big smile as she hurried to go home.
I wonder why she suddenly asked to meet me here. I look at my phone and see her message:
"I'm on my way!"
Looks like she'll be here soon.
I put my earphones in and listen to music, looking at my surroundings. There are a lot of people also waiting for the train. It looks like the train will be packed since it's the weekend.
The train station looks so different from when we go in the early morning for university; everything seems so busy now.
The sounds of people talking fill the bright environment.
As I wait on the bench, the song in my earphones fills my ears when I suddenly feel a tap on my shoulder.
Surprised, I look back to see who it is. A girl with curly hair is smiling at me. Her white dress highlights her figure, and a white hat complements her brown curls.
She looks beautiful, almost like she's just visiting the country for vacation.
"Hehe, sorry I made you wait so long! I had to get ready," she says, her warm yet excited voice matching her smile.
"No, I didn't wait long. Don't worry," I reply.
"Woah, aren't you a fan of black? You're dressed head to toe in it," she says, a playful glint in her eyes.
"Hehe," I reply, scratching the tip of my nose, feeling slightly embarrassed.
"Well shall we get going?" She asked.
"Sure, but where are we going anyway?" I asked.
"Did I forget to tell you yesterday?" she said, tilting her head to the side.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Nooo, I'm sorry! I was in such a hurry." She covered her face, clearly embarrassed.
Cute.
"It's alright. I just brought my wallet, just in case," I said, pulling it out of my pocket.
"Great idea, because we're going to the mall!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"T-The mall?" I asked, surprised.
"Yeah! I heard there's a famous mall in the next city, and I really want to visit it. I want to check out the bookstores and try the food there," she explained, her voice brimming with excitement as she showed me a picture of the mall.
