Amelias pov*
Well I suppose it could be worse I could have an abusive boyfriend and an abusive mother but no thankfully just the abusive boyfriend... although my mother is currently in a rehab facility trying to get over her alcoholism... but she just likes to pass it of as 'a habits of a social drinker' I never really believed her though she would always have parties in the house and when everyone had went home shed continue to drink into the early hours of the morning, until I would come downstairs to find her passed out on the couch with an empty bottle of tequila in her hand.
Anyway my names Amelia Darcy and I'm 23 years old and so far my life's been pretty ordinary unless the count the abusive boyfriend but don't worry I don't live with him... yet. Thank goodness. I have just finished university in Newyork I studied Art I love to paint and occasionally sell my paintings for good money that's how I keep a living I sit and paint all day. Best job in the world if you ask me.
My best friend is Jolene Parker she's rather.... how should put it.... out the sometimes but hey still my best friend and wouldn't change a thing about her. Then there's Toby my boyfriend... at first everything turned out to be great the first year was heaven but then after our one year anniversary he suddenly seemed to change... he would come over to my flat drunk and swearing and this one time we had an argument and that's when the hitting started about two months ago and then a month ago he pushed me down the stairs and I broke three of my ribs and my wrist... but I'm too scared to leave him.
" Hello wakey wakey you're the one moving not me so pick up those boxes and help my feet are killing me" Jolene said to me waving a hand in front of my face.
Jolene had decide to help me move all my stuff to the moving van all the while wearing six inch heal. It's a wonder how that woman has never broken a bone in her life.
"Well maybe you should step out of the heals and you might actually be able to walk like a human being" I laughed back and she twisted her face "no way these babes costed 700 quid... 700 and I'm go to get my use out of them" she glanced and her feet I'm pretty sure they were already blistering of have already blistered."Alright this is the last one" Jolene said as she passed me a box labeled 'PHOTOS' I smiled and walked down the stairs to the moving van. "OMFG" I heard Jolene shout from behind me as I passed the last box to the moving men. I turned to see Jolene holding her brand new shoe in her hand and the heal had snapped. I bit back a laugh as Jolene stared at the shoe "well these were crap I paid good monnneeeyy for thhheemm" she said whining and stomping her feet. I burst out laughing clutching my stomach but stopped when Jolene threw the shoe at me "okay okay ill stop" I said holding my hands up as Jolene got ready to throw the other shoe.
The drive was long and tiring I was going to take residence I my empty grans house she moved into a care home five years ago and she said that the house was all mine if I wished to take but of course I was still young then and living at home so I had no need for an empty house... but now I have. I love the house it's and old cottage in the middle of a beautiful forest about an hour away from any city which I was quite glad of it would mean more time for painting and less noise from the none existent neighbours.
I arrived with my van and began unpacking.... Jolene had gone home sometime ago and I was left to fend for myself and revile in the silence.
I unpacked everything and took out my paints and Art equipment and took them upstairs to the empty spare room that would now be my Art room and I would keep it locked when Toby comes over he tends to destroy my work when he's drunk or angry with me... which is most of the time.
"What time is it?" I mumbled to myself looking at the watch realising just how exausted I was 00:30. Well that explains why I'm so tired.
