The Weight of Shadows

I am the fragile crack in the family's foundation
A delicate balance teetering on the edge
The world's disappointments gather around me
A crushing weight that presses down, suffocating

In the silence, I hear the whispers of doubt
A hollow echo that resonates through my soul
Every glance feels like an accusation
Every moment, a test of my worth

I drift aimlessly, a leaf torn from its branch
Without roots, without direction, without purpose
My petals wither, my colors fade
A fragile flower crushed by life's indifference

Shame seeps in, a slow-moving fog
Guilt shadows my every step, every thought
I search for solace, for a respite
From the weight that presses down, relentless

In the mirror, a distorted reflection stares back
A fractured self, worn down by the world's expectations
Eyes once bright, now dull and grey
A soul eroded, worn away by the constant barrage

The world's indifference stretches out before me
A vast, cold expanse without comfort or solace
I stand alone, exposed and vulnerable
A fragile, fractured thing, searching for a way to heal.
