1 Week Later,

It's already been a week since Haseena joined the cafe as the new Barista, eventually she was really excited about working with Karishma but as the days passed her enthusiasm began to wane because even though Karishma was trying to be normal, Haseena could easily sense the subtle distance... 

It is not like, she didn't try to break the barrier but every time she went to talk to Karishma on any thing other than professional discussions, Karishma always came up with an excuse to avoid the situation.. for an instance 

One Day, 

"Karishma, I need help with the coffee machine," Haseena called out, hoping to break the ice.

"Sorry, Maddam Sir, I'm busy with the accounts," Karishma replied as she disappeared into the back office pretending to work..

Karishma's POV:

I hid in the back office, pretending to review the accounts. The truth was, I needed a break from Haseena's infectious energy. Her excitement was palpable, but I couldn't let my guard down.

Memories of our past still lingered, the pain and betrayal I felt when I discovered Haseena's secret mission. The wound had healed, but the scar remained.

As I worked, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Haseena's presence stirred up. I had thought I was over her, but being around her again brought back all the emotions I had tried to bury.I made a mental note to maintain my distance. No more getting too close, no more sharing secrets.

Haseena's POV

Days turned into weeks, and Karishma's distance began to sting. She would often step outside for "fresh air" or claim to be busy with tasks that didn't exist. I tried to brush it off, focusing on learning the ropes and impressing the customers..

One afternoon, as HM prepped for the evening rush, Karishma walked in..

KS: Maddam Sir, Wo hume thora kaam se Almora jaana hai toh kya aap thori der cafe sambhaal lengi, Shivani bhi aati hi hogi .

HM( trying to hide disappointment): Ji Bilkul, aap aram se jaiyega and Gadi aram se chalaiyega..

KS( Trying to avoid eye contact): Ji, aate hain..

As the door closed behind her, HM felt a pang of sadness. 

HM( in mind): Is She Avoiding me?

Obviously she is, why wouldn't she after what I did to her, I was so stupid to think that I would win over her trust again and now I know that it is going to be much more difficult than I thought it was going to be..( her heart replied..)
