She glanced at him upon hearing his voice again, but she quickly ignored the warning glimmering in his eyes. Pressing her lips into a thin line, she opted for silence and continued walking, determined to give him the cold shoulder.
Taehyung's grip tightened on the steering wheel, his irritation palpable as he unbuttoned the cuff of his shirt with the other hand. "There’s a large-scale examination today, so all the cabs have gone to the west district," he stated, his voice edged with annoyance. "You won’t be able to get a cab near here."
His unexpected explanation left her momentarily baffled. He never explained anything to her. She paused, incredulous at his concern. "It’s alright, I can take the bus," she retorted, dismissing his words as she turned away.
But Taehyung had run out of patience. His fingers tapped rhythmically on the steering wheel as he weighed his options. In one swift motion, he opened the door and exited the car, striding over to her with a determined look. Before she could protest, he scooped her up effortlessly in a bridal carry, cradling her against him.
Startled, Yn instinctively hugged Taehyung's neck, her heart racing as their eyes locked. His intense gaze held her captive for a moment, but she quickly regained her senses, pushing against his shoulders in irritation. "Put me down!"
Taehyung ignored her protest, effortlessly tossing her into the passenger seat with a swift motion. He leaned down, his face mere inches from hers, and fastened her seatbelt with a precision that made her pulse quicken. The confined space of the car left little room for distance; their silhouettes practically overlapped, and the heat of their breaths mingled in the air between them.
Yn's gaze darted to his handsome face, irritation bubbling within her. "What are you doing?" she snapped, her voice laced with defiance.
"Like I said, don't make me repeat myself," he replied, his tone cool yet commanding. He supported himself by propping an arm on the back of her seat, effectively caging her in. Yn's head tilted slightly backward against the seat, forcing her to look up at him. His left hand rested on the top of the seat beside her head, closing the space between them even further.
"And like I said, I don’t want to get into your car! I can walk on my own!" she insisted, her fists clenched in frustration as she struggled to assert her independence against his overwhelming presence.
Taehyung's displeasure was palpable as he registered her words, tone, and outright defiance. "You don't want to get into my car?" he echoed, his voice low and threatening. Without warning, he squeezed her face with his right hand, his palm enveloping her delicate features, emphasizing how small and vulnerable she looked in his grasp. His dark eyes scanned her expression, searching for any hint of weakness, before he snorted a laugh. "You've even gotten into my bed before, so why are you afraid of getting into my car?"
Yn felt a surge of anger boiling within her, her fists tightening as the urge to slap him overwhelmed her. Yet, she was acutely aware of her predicament and the vulnerability of her situation. Instead of retaliating, she forced herself to unclench her fists, letting them slump helplessly to her sides. "We'll be strangers after our divorce," she retorted, striving for an air of indifference despite the turmoil inside her. "I don't want any excessive interaction with you. I don't wish to see your face anymore."
