Chapter VI

—PAU'S POV—

I was perplexed to see no one in sight when Josh clearly said that he and our other classmates are still inside.

Doon ko lang napansin na kakaiba talaga, hindi lang ang room namin ang walang estudyante— buong school.

I ran around the hallways, checking the other rooms and found no one. Then I heard a voice from all the way at the end of the corridor, it was a guard on duty.

"iho! Ano pa'ng ginagawa mo rito, kanina pa uwian!"

I walked towards the guard and rubbed the back of my head, not knowing how I would explain my situation, I don't even know if he's gonna believe me.

"ah...sorry po, may naiwan po kasi ako.."

I saw him squint his eyes in suspicion for a split second before eventually letting me go.

"oh sige, umuwi ka na"

I thanked him and immediately ran out the school, once I got out I pulled my phone out of my pocket only to find out that it's dead.

"yari!"

I look around and saw some people going on about their day, some even looked at me weird probably because I looked like a mess.

I fixed my hair and adjusted my shirt, I took a deep breath and tried to figure this whole thing out.

I saw someone that was about to walk past me so I figured I would ask her what time it is, because I still thought that Josh was just messing around with me.

"ahm, mag s-seven pm na po kuya"

Hanep talaga!

I thanked her and looked around for a jeepney to ride home, I eventually found one and when I was about to pay nagulat ako, nag mahal bigla 'yung pamasahe!

I furrowed my eyebrows, and I noticed everyone on the jeep looked at me weirdly. So ang ending, nag bayad nalang si olbap kahit labag sa loob!

I arrived at my stop and got out, and...

"HUHHH????"

Bakit nawala 'yung bahay ko?!

—KEN'S POV—

I opened my eyes slowly, slightly blinded by the strong light from window.

I rubbed my eyes and I almost cursed out when I found myself in an empty classroom.

Binabangungot ata ako, that's my first thought. But I could feel and hear everything so clearly, this can't be a dream.

I looked around and stood up, kasi ang huling naalala ko nasa bahay lang ako, nag sulat pa nga ako doon sa libro na 'yun eh...

Right! That damn book.

I quickly went outside the classroom and saw some students walking by.

"bye po Sir! Ingat po!"

"yiee, crush mo nanaman si Sir ha!"

A group of students walked past me and greeted me. I looked at myself and it turns out that I'm in my usual work outfit, which was even strange because as far as I know I fell asleep inside my home, in my house clothes, I didn't even want to come to work.

Yet here I am at work, visibly confused about everything.

I quickly got my phone out and was about to contact Stell but turns out ubos na load ko, ayos talaga.

I walked outside the school and noticed that it was still noon...? But I remember the time being late in the afternoon when I fell asleep.

Ano ba'ng nangyayari? Na-engkanto ba ako or what?

I scratched my head in confusion and began to look for a taxi to ride home. I eventually got one and told the driver to drive the location of my house, but strangely enough... He said that he's never heard of it before?

"ah sir..? Saan po 'yun? Parang ngayon ko lang po 'yan narinig"

Ano daw? What does he mean he's never heard of it? Eh well known naman 'yung subdivision na tinutuluyan ko?

"ituturo ko nalang po manong"

The driver agreed and drove off, following my instructions on where to turn and such.

While driving, he looked at the rear view mirror and took a glance at me.

"sir... Ano po ba'ng sadya n'yo sa lugar na 'to? Mula po kasi dito hanggang doon sa dulo ay bakanteng lote"

I held my breath and looked outside the window.

He was right, there was no subdivision, no houses, no buildings in sight. Just tall grass, nothing else.

"dayuhan ka lang ba dito sir? Naliligaw ka na ata kasi"

"ibabalik ko nalang sir ah? Pasensya na ho"

I just nodded in response, what is happening? None of this can be real, right?
