Exploring the Importance of Storytelling at Preschool and Daycare

The stories we tell our children contribute to an important part of our child's life. Stories are packets of experiences. They are doorways to the past, to the future, to people's experiences, to possibilities, to magical worlds and so on. They are vibrant with imagery, sounds, textures, all woven together by imagination. Stories help develop imagination, logical thinking, a deeper connection with the places, people, values depicted in the stories. These stories are narrated to children by parents, grandparents, relatives and educators. To keep children engaged in we use story telling to cultivate moral values in them.
