CHAPTER 2 PART 2

I slowly woke up from my beauty rest as the light from the buildings shone right into my eyes. I groaned, hearing multiple sounds like honking from my surroundings as I checked the time on my phone. God, why is there traffic at 11pm?? I thought there would be less people but I was wrong. I noticed the closed flower shop, realizing that I'm near my apartment. I should just walk.. This traffic won't do me justice anyway. I grabbed my bag before standing up. I looked around me, it's just me and the driver? Ah, I feel bad. I walked to the entrance of the bus as I met again with the driver. I turned to him, "I'll just walk from here, I'm sorry you had to go through traffic.." I chuckled awkwardly as I pulled out money and a little snack that I bought from the store earlier from my bag, I'll just give this to him in case he hasn't eaten dinner. The driver smiled sincerely as he appreciated the offer. "Thank you, kid. Stay safe." I bowed out of respect as he opened the sliding doors. I quickly got out to avoid any cars and got to the streets. I sighed as I continued my walk back, I could feel the cold wind brush against me as I tried my best to warm myself. Is winter coming or is it just night time... It's so damn cold! I huffed as I sped up my walking, missing the warmth of one's home. Eventually, I caught a glimpse of my apartment as I sighed of being glad, I had to run for it as I battled the cold breeze hitting my face. I ran till I reached the lobby of the building, finally... I'm home. I paused, letting myself catch my breath as I shuffled my bag to look for my keys. As I got a hold of it, I got to the elevator to reach my floor until I got to my place. I threw my bag on the side table as I let my body crash to the couch. "Hah.. I sure do love my job.." I laughed sarcastically as I stood up and went to my room as I cleaned myself up. I looked across my room and saw my phone that I charged. Kaiser.. "Should I call him later to ask if he's home? It's almost midnight.." I thought as I entered the showers.

(Kaiser's POV)

"She looks really cute up close.." I smirked to myself as I sat still at the bus station, remembering how cute Y/N looked while talking. I took a few breaths to let out some cold air before walking back to my place. He couldn't take his mind off every detail of Y/N. Ever since high highschool I have searched, painting her face into my mind to never let myself forget. I've always regretted the times where I didn't have any courage to talk to Y/N more before, how cowardly I've felt. But now that I've finally found you after stalking you for so long.. "It was all worth it.." I laughed in great pleasure as I achieved what he's most longing for, that was her. I moved my other hand to my pocket, taking out a crumpled paper. It turns out it was the paper missing from Y/N's desk earlier. Who knows how he got inside but I guess security wasn't as tight now is it. I uncrumpled the paper, revealing the murder that I happen to be the cause of.

"How smart." I chuckled, reading every detail of the document as if murdering two people were an achievement. Suddenly, as I made my way to his place. A man in a full on suit approaches him with a phone in hand. "Sir." He calls out before grabbing the attention of his boss. Look who destroyed my mood.. "Yes?" I responded with a cold tone as he turned to the man, asking the reason for his sudden appearance. "The chairman wants to have a talk with you." He showed the phone that he's holding as it says 'Chairman', how extra. I sighed before snatching the phone as I turned away and shoo him away. "Alright, you go back to the car." The man nodded and walked to the car parked near the convenience store where Y/N bought food. I knew where Y/N worked, that's why I 'accidently' met her in that store.

"You could've just called me directly to my phone, old man." Rolling my eyes as I hear the man from the opposite line scoffing. "I'm not that old and I don't trust that damn phone of yours." Ego sighed before grabbing a few documents and folders. How long is he gonna stall me for? "I don't have all da-"

"Did you know that one of your underlings betrayed us and sold the drugs reserved for shipment next week." I paused after hearing the news, I slowly looked at the paper I took and put it back in my pocket before responding. "I admit they are increasing by how idiotic they are. It's getting annoying to handle." Rubbing my temples together as I stared at the car where my assistant is. "You should treat your people more nicely, Mr. Kaiser." Ego suggested as he audibly scoffed through the phone. Suddenly, I feel a vibration in my coat's pocket, signaling a notification on my phone. I opened my phone to see a message sent by Jinpachi. "These are the information from our assets regarding those you call idiots who betrayed you since you never bothered to read their resume before you accepted them for the job."

"That is not needed if they can do dirty work." I examined the records thoroughly, they were all thugs before the company even accepted them. Was I too selfish to not pay them enough to satisfy them? Or maybe they wanted more? "They've lost it, these filthy bastards."I snickered before a face showed up on my phone, it was Y/N calling. Her photo in my contacts sparked something in my heart as I grinned. I put down my phone for a while as I gave Ego a few things to do. "Are they aware that we know already?" I asked as I thought of a plan to gather the people who work under me. I want to remind them where they came from and who took them in, ungrateful fools. Ego answered with a no, confirming that no one has alerted them yet.

"Schedule a meeting in 1 hour. Tell our sources to contact them immediately." I put down the phone my assistant gave me before turning back to the car across the street. I signaled him to open the doors as I got inside. "Drive to the headquarters, I've scheduled a meeting and you are to attend alongside me." He then nods as he starts the car, looking over at me as we drive off.

"Was it about the betrayal, boss?" He asked, grabbing my attention as I turned my head to him. "You knew?" I wasn't shocked since he was the one I get the other information I need from and he's the one keeping in check of my people. I'm grateful for how loyal he is and never broke my trust despite being the assistant of a drug dealer for a company. I have known this man ever since my father inherited it from me after I finished college. I knew the work my father has been doing for years so it was basically normal for me to accept his offer. It was his last wish despite my hate towards him. "I've heard their little conversation but I decided to let it play out." I snickered, how typical. At least now I found out who reported it to the headquarters.

"Why didn't you report it to me then?" I questioned him as he continued driving, his eyes shifting at me every now and then. He then chuckled with a smirk on his face, "My apologies." he smiled before pointing his finger causing me to raise an eyebrow by his sudden gesture. "I think someone's waiting for you boss." I slowly realized that I missed Y/N's call due to my conversation with Ego. I smirked as I pulled out my phone again, scrolling through my contacts as I dial her number. "How observant." I praised the assistant.
