CHAPTER 4 PART 2
(Time: 7pm)
The sound of the rain suddenly crashed while we chatted, we both looked outside as the weather changed. The clock hits 7pm as the customers slowly start leaving. “You sure changed a lot, Kaiser. You look more unsightly than before.” He rolled his eyes as he scoffed, I finally got more comfortable with him the more we talked. Smiling, he sipped the remaining coffee left in his cup as he offered the leftover pastry for me. “How mean.” Suddenly, his phone rang from his pocket as I looked at him, waiting for him to answer as I kept quiet. He takes it out, his expression changed from joyous to an expression I can’t seem to read, it looked like a ‘what is it this time?’ or a ‘what a mood destroyer’ kind of expression. He placed his phone back in his pocket till it stopped ringing. Curiously, I wondered if it was something major. Hopefully, he’s not ignoring important calls due to this little meetup. “I’m sorry, Y/N.. I gotta go.” He rubbed his head awkwardly as his smile turned into a small frown.
“No, it’s fine! It’s late anyways.” I reassured him as he glanced outside, he seemed to be looking for something or someone? Is he supposed to meet a client? I stood up, patting his shoulder to let him know that he can leave if it’s important. “Well, thank you for tonight!” I smiled sincerely as he scoffed, he stood up from his seat as he suddenly hugged me. My eyes widened before embracing him back. He’s so warm.. My face turns pink as he pulls away. “I’m happy we get to meet again after so long.” Chuckling, looking into my eyes as he wears his coat. It was still raining outside but it wasn’t as harsh as earlier. He waves goodbye, his smile never left as he gets out. I sighed contently as I sat down for a while, rearranging the things in my bag. I pulled out my phone and noticed one of my apps opened, it was the picture I took of the photo I showed him. “I wonder how the others are doing..” I scoffed to myself, such absurd thinking. I sighed as I put down my phone before standing up from my seat, looking outside. Right, it’s raining.. Kaiser doesn’t have an umbrella yet he went out there? I laughed a bit, thinking how wet he must have been.
“Ma’am! You left your wallet!” One of the staff called out as they ran to me. She reached out her hand as I curiously checked my bag. What..? I have mine here. I looked at the wallet in her hand. “Oh! This is Kaiser’s..” Realizing that he must have been in a hurry to forget one of his things. I thanked the nice employee as I got out. I opened my umbrella, “I should return this to him, he might need this now.” I wondered where to find him as I sprinted through the rain. Oh, this workplace! It’s near here I believe.. I hope we went there. The bar is always open 24/7 so I wonder if it was an emergency shift? I walked as I shoved his wallet in my pocket. I reached the place where I work as the guards greeted me. “Oh, miss. Did you leave something?” I shook my head as I waved my hand. “Do you know where the nearest bar is?” I asked the slightly tired guard as he nodded, it seemed that he’s almost half asleep. I feel bad, does the boss not hire more guards to watch? I heard only 2 were stationed here or something. “Just across the street and take a few steps.” He gave out the directions, guiding me as he pointed his finger to the way where the bar is. I crossed the street after thanking him, I looked at the wallet in my pocket then checked my phone for the time. Man, it’s getting late.. Good thing, I don’t have work tomorrow so I can rest. I noticed a purple and blue light on the floor that shone through the window. It was some party light. It seems that this is the bar.
“How lively..” I entered, observing everyone around me. Thankfully, there wasn’t much of a line outside. These people sure are having fun, the ladies are basically wearing nothing as they dance with the guys. There’s also a lot of groups at the tables, I’m guessing either office friends or just some teenagers who sneaked out of their homes. What a nuisance, I’ll just need to give this back to Kaiser and I’ll be on my way. I approached the man who’s serving a group of ladies their drinks, he looked at me with a dirty look. Bad time? I don’t care, I just wanna get out of here.. “Ha.. Uhm. Is Kaiser here? I just wanna drop off his wallet, he left it earli-” I was cut off with a scoff as he continued to shake some drinks with that sassy attitude.
“Who the hell is Kaiser?” He judged me as the ladies by the counter gathered among themselves, giggling at me. I tilt my head, feeling rather confused. But he told me that he- “Sorry, he’s one of yours, right?” I tried confirming as I looked down in confusion. He works here, doesn’t he? “The fuck? We don’t know any Kaiser here, lady. If you ain’t gonna order, get out!” I sighed as I slowly felt agitated, how stubborn. I overheard one of the staff gossipping as they took a peek at us. I glared at them for a bit as I looked back at the bartender. “Look, I’m not trying to be rude here. I’m just looking for someone and I'm gone!” I exclaimed as the man eyed me with an irritated look. Suddenly, a hand behind me taps me by the shoulder as he approaches the bartender. “I don’t think that’s how we should treat customers, right?” I couldn’t see what was behind me but his voice sounded dark but not too deep. The size of his hand is bigger than mine though.. I looked up as the man stared at the person behind me with fear in his eyes before glancing at me. He immediately went back to work. “Are you okay, miss?”
