CHAPTER 5 PART 1

(Y/N'S POV)

“I- I’m fine yeah…” I was visibly shaking like a dog. He sounded.. Calm now? His tone changed from earlier but what’s with that guy’s look? I quickly took a deep breath as he sat himself beside me. I catched a glimpse of him, he looked formal and proper, he had a suitcase with him and he seemed to be wearing glasses. Is he their boss? Maybe that’s why he looked scared. But that expression was- “Two Negronis, please.” He lifted two of his fingers as he called out his order, the guy who has a bitchy attitude hesitantly walked up to him, acknowledging his order. He looked nervous, the suit guy had a charming smile, worth millions but he looks like he works for a company with that fit, just like me.. I sighed as I looked at my outfit. The bartender immediately went to prepare the drink ordered by the suit guy. I realized that I never got to know if Kaiser actually worked here or not. Checking the time, it was already late but I didn’t have any shifts for tomorrow so It’s probably okay to slack off. I chuckled letting myself lay off the stress for tonight. I’ll just bring him this tomorrow after I text him.. I looked down at the wallet in my hand then stuffed it inside my pocket. The sound of the glass clinking caught my attention, realizing that the drinks came as the suit guy offered me one. I looked at the glass, feeling quite skeptical about everything. Is this guy tryna hit on me? He does look handso-

“Hello, you must be Y/N? I’ve heard a lot about you!” His dark aura quickly went away as he tried starting a conversation with me. I was taken aback as I examined his face. This guy’s.. Weird? I shrugged as I let all odds come to me. I was so uptight at work that I’ve forgotten how to relax so I guess I’ll take this time to mess with this hooligan looking ass..-

“I’m doing well. Thank you for th-” As I was about to swallow a bit of the negroni, I paused in my tracks as I smashed down the glass, causing a loud thud. The people around me got quiet as they slowly got back with their own group. The suit guy who was also surprised couldn’t help but let out a confused laughter. I realized what I did, calming after embarrassing myself. “Sorry about that.. Anyways, HOW THE HELL DID YOU KNOW MY NAME?”

“Pardon? Oh sorry if I startled you~ It's just that I assume your workplace is near this bar and I've been hearing your name around.” He smiles like a former playboy who took her 293706th girl on a date. Despite me being drunk, I'm never the one to give in easily. I mean- he may look handsome, kind, well mannered and such.. My thoughts filled my head. “My name? Are those the silly rumors again?” Rolling my eyes as a scoff escaped my mouth. From that, it seems that people who work certain jobs have it hard. “Rumors? I wouldn't say rumors. You're a news reporter, am I correct?” He asked, looking for acknowledgement in return. “Well, correct but I'm also a journalist!” I exclaimed out loud, revealing my second duty at work. It was given to a reporter like me who would have stacks and stacks of notes hidden in their chambers (under her bed…). “Oh! That's quite comforting? I'm sure it's nice to have a little notebook to put your thoughts in. I’m sure being a reporter takes a lot from you.” His voice, somewhat comforting. Calm demeanor, it scares me. He also has great grammar but he talks a lot. This guy must be non-existent. I’m sure of it!

“Hey! It's not just a ‘notebook’ filled with my thoughts. It also contains a lot of the secretiest of secret investigations!” I pointed at him, no longer minding myself. It was obvious that a few sips later I was completely wasted. He also then noticed it too as the side of his lips curved into a smirk, trying his best to look professional and not burst laughing out loud. “R-really now? I guess the field you work on, we need to take tons of notes to remember.” He nods from understanding my situation. Being a news reporter is no joke and it takes tons out of a person I'm sure. “Yeahhh, all those new things I have to tackle give me a headache but I need to get to the bottom of it.” I slammed my drink once again, sounding determined and passionate about my job. Well, I wouldn't say that, I just have a love and hate relationship with it. My chatter intrigued him, getting his full attention. “Oh? That much in one pilling I see.”

“Yes! Matter of fact, that new case was crazy! Even the company didn't know about the killings! That reporter boutta be put into investigation. How come no one realized that the info was not even released!” A hand immediately covered my loud mouth as I turned to him, he was red. I'm not really sure if it was from embarrassment or from trying his best ‘try not to laugh challenge’ but I noticed how the room turned quiet, all eyes on us. “Sorry” I mumbled with his hand still on my mouth, the room slowly went back to what it was earlier. “It's alright, didn't you know you were such an expressive drinker?” He chuckled, taking a sip of the same drink Y/N is drinking. He took a gulp while looking at her. His eyebrow raised as his thoughts read: ‘Hm. This sure is quite strong.. I guess she's a light drinker? Is that her 5th gla-

“No, I haven't tasted this before so I was curious so thank you.” I disturbed his inner thoughts as I leaned over at the counter, playing with my glass for a while. I thought about why the boss wanted to stop that case, we were so close and all my hard work gone like that?! Why would they do that? It's better for people to be aware rather than be clueless, mysteriously dying all the sudden. I hugged in frustration as I slightly pound my head. He then notices this while trying to think of something to lighten the mood. “Anyways, you just reminded me of a certain someone (Kaiser)” He smirked as his mind screamed KAISER like a morning alarm. “Really? We might just become good friends if I ever meet that person then!” We both laughed out loud as we clinked out glasses. This guy ain't that bad, huh. I guess it's like this in a bar? “I'm sure of that.” The atmosphere turned into a cafe as more and more people slowly left, leaving their friends who were still drinking in the bar. It was already past my arrival time and not me and him were the only ones left.

(TIMESKIP: 9pm)

The lights fade through the windows of the bar as the workers clean up while me and him chat a little more. The bustling sound of drunk people talking and laughing died down. It all turned calm as I stared at the stacked cups of the drinks both of us drank. “I assume you own this place?” We were the only ones here as none of the workers told us to leave. They all look frightened to even approach us though? I guess there are rules? MAYBE THIS MAN IS RIC-

“Yes I do, I just thought why not build a bar near all these workplaces. Everyone needs these nowadays.” So I am right, not only is this guy rich, he's also pretty smart. “That's good! And it looks to me that it's actually working. Congrats!” I shook his hand, giving him a proud smile. I looked over at the time as I took a peek at my phone from my bag. “Thanks-” *Bzzt Bzzt…*

“Oh dear, Should I answer?” He grabbed his phone from his suit pocket as the light from his device reflected to his face. His features looked more clear, seeing his face more without the bar light interfering. “It's fine! You should go answer it, can't miss on a call this late? Must be important.” He nodded willingly as he looked at the contact number and the name, smiling a bit. He then looked up at her. “You're right. It's late. I suppose you care about your beauty sleep?” I didn't expect that but it was true. I haven't even gotten home yet- I checked if Kaiser's wallet was still with me just to make sure. “I'll pay for your taxi, thank you for tonight, Miss Y/N.” He takes money for my drive home as I reluctantly took. “How thoughtful, but I can't accept this that easily if I don't know a person's name? Lucky for you, we bonded so suddenly.” He chuckled as the ringing from his phone stopped. We both walked outside as the chilling wind of nighttime hit the both of us. This is a good night's sleep when I get back home. “How rude, I'm Sae Itoshi. Nice to meet you.” He took my hand and gently shook it. How is this guy still not drunk after all those drinks he took. I still feel tipsy after everything but I still have a sense of my surroundings thankfully. “Good. Well, I'll see you around?” I took one last look at Sae before walking away from the bar. His gaze still stuck to me till his phone rings again.
