Zach was fixing his NC (Neuro Chip). Atleast 99% of the world population has a NC implanted on their head. They are capable of calling others with just their minds. And Nowadays they don't have to speak to talk they can communicate directly with one brain to another. He had received a new one from Mikey. Which was the latest model and above his paycheck. So he was a little excited. The irony was NC either stand for Night City or Neuro Chip.
He reached the riverside earlier than Mikey told. He was thinking of every single possibilities what can Mikey do to test him as he was waiting looking at the polluted river water. That's when his NC started to ring' it was Mikey.
"Hey, Mikey! I'm here by the river," Zach thought, his excitement spilling over. He couldn't help but grin at the thought of what was coming next. "No time to explain," Mikey's voice buzzed in his mind, urgency threading through his thoughts. "Whatever is about to happen is coming real quick. Got it?"
Zach nodded even though Mikey couldn't see him. "Got it! I'm ready!"
"Quick! Get on the road!" Mikey urged.
"What?" Zach frowned, glancing around. "What do you mean? I'm by the river!"
"Just trust me!" Mikey's voice was insistent. "I'll explain everything when you get here. Just move!"
Zach stood up, his mind racing. "Okay, okay, I'm on my way!" He started jogging along the riverbank, trying to figure out what Mikey was planning.
"Wear the glove I gave you yesterday on your cybernetic arm" Mikey added before hanging up. Zach's Neuro sensors saw it was a magnetic glove. Looking at the glove Zach reached the side of the road.
"Now raise your arm high up." Mikey ordered. "I thought about a lot of possibilities but now I have no idea what I'm doing." he shouted, squinting into the distance, trying to see what Mikey had planned.
"You'll see! Just hold on tight!" Mikey replied, his tone filled with energy.
Zach took a deep breath, raising his arm as instructed. Just as he did, a sleek, armed car whizzed by him on the highway. Suddenly, without warning, his glove activated with a buzz, and before he could even process what was happening, the magnet latched onto the car!
"Whoa!" Zach yelped, his heart racing as he found himself hanging beside a speeding car.
"Ok you're fine the driver hasn't noticed you yet. Just hold on tight!"
Zach clenched his jaw, gripping the side of the car as tightly as he could with his cybernetic arm. "Yeah, easier said than done! What do I even have to do."
"The car you're attached to is a heavily armed vehicle filled with Solos (For more information on Solos read the Gamenote on Chapter 7 or search it on Cyberpunk Wiki)," Mikey explained quickly. "There are five cars like that around you. They're all protecting a limo carrying an Arasaka corporate. Your mission? Steal the corpo's NC—the Neuro Chip. It doesn't matter who dies in the process, but that NC can't be damaged. Our client wants it without a scratch!"
"Was it necessary to do it on the highway." Zach groaned, still hanging on for dear life as the wind whipped around him. "Now what?" Zach shouted into his comm.
Mikey's voice crackled back. "You need to get inside that car. Disable the Solos, grab the NC from the corpo in the limo, and get out of there. Simple." Zach took a deep breath. With his free hand, he reached over and grabbed his katana and slashed the door.
Inside, two heavily armed Solos turned, their eyes widening as they saw Zach hanging off the side of the car.
"Uh, hey guys!" Zach grinned awkwardly before launching himself into the vehicle, tackling one of the guards to the floor.
