What gave you inspiration to first start Sage?

I used to just read fanfictions on Wattpad as opposed to writing them, and I noticed through a good majority of that time that all of the OC characters people created depended upon the storyline of the others on the show instead of creating their own life. It was something that I wanted to stray away from, and I decided that I wanted to create a girl who was given a story from the moment she was born.

If you could change anything about wattpad, what would it be?

Maybe the fact that our followers are shown? I don't know, honestly. Sometimes, I wish that Wattpad would make the transition and have the amount of followers a person has be their own personal count. Speaking from experience, I know that people I want to be friends with, or people that I just want to have a conversation with because they're genuinely a nice person, can be timid when it comes to talking to me because I have quite a bit of followers -- which, I don't think it should matter to them. I'm overwhelmingly grateful for how many people decided to follow my longtime irrelevant self, but I don't want that number to subject me to a specific amount of friends on this site because of it. I want to be friends with people who have zero followers or ten thousand. So, probably the visibility of the follower count!

How did you come up with the name Sage Connelly? Did you just pick it because you liked the sound of it or did it have a lot of meaning to it?

Sage's name was originally going to be Logan, but the title was still going to be called 'Sage'. I chose the title before I chose to name her, mainly because Sage is a healing herb and I thought that it went well with what her character development would eventually become throughout the seasons. When I realized that I wanted to name her Sage, not only because Logan was hella generic for me, but because it held an originality that I believed Sage was before I even began writing her. Connelly was something that I thought fit well with her first name, and everything just blended together after that. So, it definitely had a lot of meaning to it, and it still does. It always will.

What is your favorite BROTP and OTP that you've created?

BROTP is definitely either Malia and Kayla or Sage and Scott. I absolutely love the dynamic between Malia and Kayla because the two of them have so many things in common, and every single time I write a scene for them, I can't help but smile. Sage and Scott are forever my favorite, though. It might be because they both have the same moral standards in terms of their inability to let anyone get hurt and their loyalties to the people that they love. I don't think there will ever be a moment that my heart doesn't go out to them when I write a scene between the two.

As for OTP, I'm going with the obvious choice of Stage. It's probably because I've literally been writing their relationship for so long and I don't really know anything else as deeply as their ship. My favorite part about Sage and Stiles together is the fact that no one would ever put the two in a relationship if they were just basing it off of personality traits and the way that they acted around other people. They're both completely alike and irreparably different. I don't think I'll ever get bored of finding new alternatives to their love, unlike some of my stories -- now, drafts -- which haven't even had a chance to see the light of day. I'm pretty sure this was a very long and unnecessary answer to a very simple question. Whoops!

What author on wattpad do you look up to?

As far as Teen Wolf, it's definitely got to be Cate, ItBelongsInAMuseum. I remember spending a week reading her story, Black Water, because I was so incredibly in love with everything that she did. Her writing is something that I've always looked up to, and not only is she absolutely amazing at creating one of the most bomb-ass characters, but she's also someone that I can call a friend. That's something that I never thought I would be able to say. I basically fangirl every time my existence is acknowledged in her life. But, definitely Cate. Her stories are what convinced me to start writing fanfiction for the show instead of just watching, crying, and praying my life wasn't going to be sold off to a graveyard.

Do you have any advice for authors who are starting a teen wolf fanfiction?

I think that it's more of advice for everyone who is starting any kind of story. When I first started writing on Wattpad, I didn't have any substance in my words. All I was doing was finding pretty words and putting them in coherent sentences; there was nothing there that people could relate to. Then, I created a character that was a literal reflection of myself. I created a person that had the same flaws as me, a person that had the confidence that I hoped to have one day, and I created a person that had all of the demons inside of her head that once resided in mine. I'm not saying expose yourself to the entire world, but make sure that there is something in your writing that you can connect to. Without that connection, the only thing you're going to get is a lot of "Congratulations! You've found big words from a Thesaurus!"

As far as Teen Wolf goes, make sure that you're comfortable with writing the show. There is a lot of dialogue and an extremely lethal amount of times that you're going to wish you hadn't decided on joining the fandom. There will be times that you cry because you want to completely skip an episode and times where you scream because your character is being an irrelevant asshole in a particular scene. Just, be comfortable with the show. Be comfortable knowing that Jeff Davis created something with so many different aspects for you to play on, and so many different emotions you're able to connect with. If you truly love the show, the dedication you have to watching it should be as strong as the dedication you have to writing it. At least, that's how I am. I might just be weird, though.
