Being up on the balcony was so strange. She could barely hear what was going on in the fire pit. When they were given free range Maia and Miguel said hi to the newcomers before going off to the kitchen.

Maia perched on the counter, swinging her legs back and forth, watching Miguel intently as he moved about, boiling water for their tea.

"Are you sure you know how to make tea? Last time, you almost burned down the kitchen," Maia teased, a playful smirk dancing on her lips.

Miguel shot her a mock-serious glare. "I'll have you know I am a tea-making expert. Just because I mixed the salt with sugar once doesn't mean I can't handle a cuppa!" He poured the steaming water into the teapot, steam rising like little clouds in the night air.

Maia laughed, her eyes sparkling. "Right, expert. Let's not forget the time you thought herbal tea was actually made from herbs you found in the garden—like the ones you thought were basil."

"Hey, I was adventurous!" he replied, rolling his eyes, but he couldn't help but chuckle along with her.

As Miguel finished brewing their tea, he stepped closer, standing between Maia's legs, a warmth radiating from his presence. He handed her a steaming cup, their fingers brushing lightly. "So, about today... I'm really glad we stuck together. And now, with the new bombshells showing up."

"Me too," Maia admitted, her expression softening. "But I just can't shake this feeling we have. No matter how many new people come in, it's like... you get me. I'm not looking to twist."

Miguel's gaze held hers, the light teasing replaced by sincerity. "Same here. I know we have to navigate this whole thing, but I trust you. I really like you, Maia."

She felt her heart flutter at his words. "You're not worried about those new boys stealing me away?" she asked, half-joking but also curious.

"Steal you? Good luck to them," Miguel replied with a grin, leaning in slightly. "I'll just have to keep making the best tea to keep you around."

"Oh, is that your secret weapon?" Maia teased, arching an eyebrow. "Maybe I should start hiding the kettle from you."

"Not a chance," he laughed, their playful banter filling the night air with warmth. "But seriously, I'm glad we're on the same page. No matter what happens, I'll always be here for you."

Maia smiled, feeling a mix of relief and excitement. "And I'll be here for you, too. Just promise me one thing."

"Anything," he replied, leaning closer, their faces just inches apart.

"Don't ever mix the salt and sugar again. I need my tea, and you need to stay out of the fire department's radar!" She winked, and they both burst into laughter. "You're such a bully."

"Am not!"

After talking to some of the Islanders Maia was ready for bed. "Welcome to the villa, have a good night." She hugged Cassidy, and then high fived Kenny and Nigel on her way back into her bed where Miguel was waiting.
