Sneaking into a bar was never exactly on my bucket list, but here we were. The evening had been smooth so far—too smooth, really. But now, as we stepped outside the diner, we were aware of the mission. Sneaking Savannah in without drawing any attention.

Savannah, of course, was all confident, completely unfazed by the potential disaster that awaited. "You're not actually worried, are you?" she asked, walking beside me, her tone teasing.

I shot her a sideways glance. "Worried? No. Just... thinking through how to pull this off without getting busted."

She smirked, leaning into me slightly. "I am not scared, last Friday was too easy. You just have to play it cool."

I raised an eyebrow. "Vivian sneaked you there, huh?"

"Vivian's older brother," she noted casually. "But I don't have his number and Vivian blocked me."

I gave up testing her for her bad ideas already and eyed the rest of our little group.

Lilly and Caden walked ahead of us, their easy banter filling the night air. Asher was staying behind, not particularly interested in their jokes.

I saw his rolling eyes. "Are you okay, buddy?"

Asher's usually firm face released a bit with a chuckle. "Yeah, just... I would rather go home and study..."

I made a long face. "Don't tell me you're this desperate to have a better grade."

He sighed with a faint smile. "Not everyone is an exemplary student like you and Lils."

Savannah caught that immediately and eyed me with a surprised huff. "You, Deon?"

I nodded proudly and enjoyed her chuckle.

"What about your grades?" Asher asked her.

She played with her hair and then bowed. "You know... The best ones."

I sensed she was truthful and it made me smirk, whispering to her. "Your recklessness is a cover to hide the fact that you're a nerd."

Her whole face got red and she pipped. "What? No!"

"I got you."

Ignoring her protests, I pulled out my phone to check the time and sent a quick message to the rest of the pack, telling them to meet us there a bit later than we'd agreed on. That way, we could sneak Savannah in before our crowd got too heavy.

"Alright," I said, slipping the phone back into my pocket. "We're meeting them in about an hour. We'll get you in first, then the others can join us."

Savannah's eyes sparkled with mischief, clearly thrilled by the prospect of sneaking in. "What's the plan, then?"

I sighed, thinking it over. "We'll wait until the bouncers' distracted by Asher, then slip you in while Lilly and Caden cause a little scene at the front."

She grinned. "That's not bad. Maybe you're not as straight-laced as I thought."

"Don't push your luck," I shot back, but there was no real heat in my voice. I could feel the mating bond tugging at me, pulling me closer to her. Being around Savannah like this, planning something a little reckless—it felt natural, almost like we'd been doing this for years.

As we walked toward the car, I noticed Savannah was eyeing me again, this time with a critical look. "What now?" I asked.

She glanced at all of us. "Who's driving home?"
