In the stillness of the room, tanging tibok ng dalawang puso ang naririnig. Two hearts, each beating to a different rhythm.

My heart beats for him, but his beats for someone he truly loves.

At alam kong hindi ako 'yon...

"Kung may isang kwarto na puno ng mga taong mahal mo, kanino ka tatakbo?" I break the silence, my voice trembling.

Alam ko ang sagot, ngunit nais kong marinig ito mula sa kanya.

Tumawa siya, a sound that feels out of place. "Bakit mo ako tinatanong niyan? Ang weird mo."

"I'll get straight to the point." I look at him, my hands shaking. "Leanne and I are in that room-"

"Ano'ng ibig mong sabihin-" he tries to interrupt.

"Who would you run to?" ngunit pinutol ko siya, my voice cracking as I press on.

Nanahimik siya, staring at me, words trapped behind his lips. I see the pain in his eyes, the pain na laging naroroon kahit anong gawin ko para pasayahin sya.

"I asked who you would run to."

"Eline..."

"It's her, isn't it?" Tears start to swell in my eyes.

He sighs heavily, avoiding my gaze. "It's always her..."

The moment those words leave his lips, tears stream down my face.

"I knew it, siya naman palagi." I whisper, unable to hide the ache in my voice.

Knowing the truth hurts, but hearing it from him shatters my heart. In that instant, I realize...

I will never be loved the way I love him.
